The 2014 DP World Tour Championship is going to be held this November 20-23. It is one of the most highly ranked players in the world, the top players will take part of the magnificent golf event. The European Tour’s top 60 golfers will battle it out on the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates, over 4-days for a share of the combined $11.75 million prize-money and The Race to Dubai crown. The $8 million prize money, in addition, a bonus pool of US$3,750,000 will be divided amongst the leading ten players at the conclusion of the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai.
Established in 2009 and sponsor by a shipping company in Dubai, this championship has now, approximatly, a global audience of 850 million households tunnind to watch this event. This event is the climax of the new European Tour Race to Dubai. Some of the players who are assured of a place at the DP World Tour Championship are: FedEx Cup Champ, Henrik Stenson leads the European Tour in Race to Dubai points, Dubai resident David Howell is at the top of the Ryder Cup European Points List; Bjorn is trageting a comeback to the tournament. 23 year-old American Peter Uihlein has secured his place too.
A once in a lifetime chance to play with one of the top 60 players on The European Tour in the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai Rolex Pro-Am will be the ultimate prize when amateur golfers across the UAE tee off in the qualifying rounds of the tournament's "Luckiest Ball on Earth", which are well underway today. Twenty-one events will be staged at 20 clubs affiliated to the Emirates Golf Federation with each winner going through to the Luckiest Ball on Earth Grand Final on the Fire course at Jumeirah Golf Estates on 13 October. In addition to the 21 club event qualifiers, the top three UAE nationals in The President’s Cup have also been invited to compete in the Grand Final.
The Earth course at the Jumeirah Golf Estates was designed by Greg Norman. Some of the unique featuresof this course has are 102 bunkers, 20 lakes and two meandeeing streams, tee, fairways and rough that are covered with ryegrass. The 7th Hole, a classic par 5 measuring 584 yards, played uphill with the prevailing wind over the left shoulder that requires the best of playing strategies and an even greater necessity of execution. One of the most challenging and exciting miles in golf are in this course with are the for last holes that fall just short of a mile.
