Sony Opens in Hawaii Odds
Each January, the Sony Open in Hawaii attracts 144 of the world's greatest golf professionals to the island of Oahu. The signature fundraising event for Friends of Hawaii Charities, the 2015 Sony Open in Hawaii kicks off January 12-18 at Waialae Country Club.
This tournament's full name is Sony Open in Hawaii. For much of its history, which dates to 1965 - the tournament was known as the Hawaiian Open. Sony became the title sponsor in 1999. The Sony Open is the second tournament on the PGA Tour's schedule, taking place in early to mid-January and following the SBS Championship.
The PGA Tour's Sony Open in Hawaii is one of the prestigious few tournaments on the PGA Tour, and this famed competition is the largest charity event in Hawaii, raising over $13 million dollars for the local not-for-profits since 1999.
The world-wide media coverage of the Sony Open is amazing, reaching over 450 million homes in some 200 countries via numerous national and international broadcast networks, and contributing an estimated $100 million in marketing and economic revenues to Hawaii. In 2007 the event debuted live coverage to China, and India and with other telecasts to cover 150 other countries around the world the Sony Open is now one of the most internationally-televised golf tournaments in the world.
