2016 South African Open Championship

This tournament is one of the oldest golf opens that has been played evey year attracking both the professional and amateur players, the first ever was in 1903. In 1997 the European tour stared to co-sanctioned and since then it has been part of the golf tournament. The field consist of 156 player both professional and amateur.
Defending champion Morton Madsen will spearhead the international challenge in the 104rd South African Open Championship at Glendower Golf Club from the 8-11 of January 2015. Last year after lifting the prestigious trophy, he moved inside the top 120 of the Official World Golf Ranking from 244th. even if it means that he won’t be teeing it up for Sweden in the World Cup over the same weekend.
The competition will be decided over 72 holes of stroke play. All contestants participate in the first two rounds. On conclusion of the second round there will be a cut to the 65th-placed professional and those tying. In the event of a tie for first place, there will be a sudden-death playoff on holes to be determined by the Tournament Director.
Glendower Golf Club is said to be a test for the world’s best golfers, hence the welcome return as host of this prestigious tournament 2015.
