The PGA Tour Farmers Insurance Open is the tour's stop in San Diego, Calif. The event has been played in San Diego since 1952. From 1989 through 2009, it was known as the Buick Invitational. Before Farmers Insurance came on board as sponsor, it temporarily reverted to being called the San Diego Open.
The stage is set for this years exciting Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines Golf Club in La Jolla, California. This year it will be Nick Watney defending his championship title. The Farmers Insurance Open is the 4th event on the 2010 PGA Tour Schedule and is part of the Tour's FedEx Cup Competition.
PGA Torrey Pines Golf Courses:
Torrey Pines Golf Course, a 36-hole municipal facility north of San Diego in the suburb of La Jolla, is the current site of the PGA Tour Buick Invitational. Torrey Pines has hosted the tournament every year since 1968, with rounds split between its North Course and South Course (the South Course always hosts the final round). Also, Torrey Pines South hosted the 2009 U.S. Open Championship after it's redesign in 2001 by Rees Jones.

Ben Crane, who was erroneously quoted after the Tiger Woods scandal broke, earned his third career PGA Tour victory with a 13-under-par effort in the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.
