2012 Coca Cola 600: Charlotte Motor Speed Way

This weekend marks the 53rd running of NASCAR's endurance contest, the Coca-Cola 600, at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The first race was ran back in 1960, when Joe Lee Johnson claimed the inaugural event victory. The race is going to take place at the Charlotte Motor Speedway this Sunday May 27th, 2012 at 6:00 am ET.
There are some important facts about the race: Only six times has the winner of the All-Star race has gone on to win the 600: Kasey Kahne (2008), Jimmie Johnson (2003), Jeff Gordon (1997), Dale Earnhardt (1993), Davey Allison (1991), and Darrell Waltrip (1985).
Tony Stewart has been the hottest driver on the circuit, and with a win in the All-Star race, a points win seems to be around the corner. But beware: Although he was won here in 2003, he has only posted three top-10s since then.
Global RallyCross will be hosting the season kick off of the interesting sport, which combines the best features of circuit racing, off-road racing and rally competition in one sport. The first event of the 2012 season will happen this Saturday May 26th, as part of the Coca-Cola 600 race weekend, the race will take place afther de History 399 Nascar Nationwide Series Race. 2010 Results Charlotte Coca Cola 600
The Coca Cola 600 is a NASCAR competition that is celebrated now a days at the Charlotte Speedway located at North Carolina. In this competition we were able to look at some impressive results. Kurt Busch who is the driver of the No. 2 Miller Light Dodge, held off a hard-charging Jamie McMurray to win the Coca-Cola 600 for the first time.
In a interview he stated: “This was a race for the ages. To have a car as good as it was in the day time I was afraid of it at night. I didn’t know if it was going to be able to give me the handle like it had early on in the race. And it played out in our favor. I’m speechless in the fact that we swept both races.”
Here we can see the chart with the most important results of the competition and in which we are able to see that Jeff Gordon, who was performing well until this competition, got back to the sixth place at the competition.
