Chavez Jr vs LeHoullier Boxing Odds
The match between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, 39-0-1 (29 KOs) and Jason LeHoullier, 21-1-1 (8 KOs) will now be featured on Top Rank’s Latin Fury 11 on September 12 in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico.
LeHoullier, 31, the former Dover and Portsmouth resident and middleweight boxer who now fights out of Maine's Portland Boxing Club, is set to fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in Cancun, Mexico. That happens to be Chavez Jr.'s own back yard, so needless to say this match will be on a grand stage.
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. may find that he might have some problems against LeHoullier, who barely lost a 12-round majority decision to Harry Joe Yorgey in August and fought to an eight-round draw with Jose Luis Gonzalez in March 2008. Both of those fighters are around the same level as Chavez, maybe a little better in the case of Yorgey.
LeHoullier usually starts slowly, taking punches to give punches. He has been a tough but sometimes unimaginative fighter. His last fight was his first loss. Harry Joe Yorgey beat LeHoullier on a split decision last August in Nashville, Tenn.
LeHoullier has been making some adjustments in preparation for this fight, trying to be more mobile than he traditionally is in the ring. He's jumping rope for the first time, hoping to enhance his lateral movement instead of moving forward so much. This should be one of Chavez Jr. toughest matchups yet.
