The Crowne Plaza Invitational Professional Golf competition it's 67th edition of this PGA golf event and it will take place at the Colonial Country Club located in Forth Worth Texas. The event will be held from Monday May 20th until Sunday May 26th, 2013. Dating back to 1946, the Invitational at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas is the longest-running PGA TOUR tournament held at the same venue.This is a regular tournament of the PGA Tour, it is one of five invitational tournaments held on the PGA Tour. The Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial is one of only five tournaments given "invitational" status by the PGA Tour, and consequently it has a reduced field of approximately 125 players (as opposed to most full-field open tournaments with a field of 156 players). The other four tournaments with invitational status are the Arnold Palmer Invitational, The Heritage, the Memorial Tournament, and the AT&T National. As a restricted field event on the PGA Tour, only the first 80 players on the previous year's money-list are guaranteed invites.

Crowne Plaza has served as title sponsor of the historic event since 2007, at the end of December 2010 it was announced that the PGA TOUR and InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) have entered into a five-year integrated marketing partnership. This agreement beginning in 2011, IHG owns a portfolio of well-recognized and respected hotel brands including InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Hotel Indigo, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites. IHG also manage the world's largest hotel loyalty program, Priority Club Rewards with 52 million members worldwide.

In addition to the first place purse the champion gets a classic gold ring bearing a one-carat diamond, the following year the winner will be honored at the annual Champions Dinner with a small replica Leonard Trophy, which is a silver bowl and eagle on top of a traditional wood base.

Charities is another event that the Crowne Plaza Invitational works for, last year alone over $6 million was raised for the Tarrant County charities. The main beneficiary is Cook Children's Medical Center, they use the funds to pay for uncompensated care, no child is turned away from this center without medical attention. The Crowne Plaza Invitational also sponsors the Birdies for Charity and The First Tee Life Skills Experience.
