Chad Dawson vs Antonio Tarver Fight Lines

Antonio The Magic Magic Tarver and Bad Chad Dawson will step between the ropes on October 11th,
to find out who is the better man when it comes to going Toe to Toe in the ring - the aging one-time
super star of the light heavy's or the best young talent in the division.
Antonio Tarver, a southpaw outboxed and beat light heavyweight champion Clinton Woods from Sheffield, England by
12-round UD on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at St Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Florida. Tarver retained his IBO light
heavyweight title successfully defending it for the second time and captured Woods' IBF light heavyweight title.
Tarver will now, fight challenger Chad Dawson in an IBF and IBO light heavyweight title fight on October 11th on Showtime.
This will be Tarver's first IBF title defense and his third IBO title defense. Dawson is coming off a close unanimous
decision win over Glen Johnson.
Chad Dawson is on the rise from unknown prospect to world champion. Only to face a legendary and highly
confident fighter in Antonio Tarver, who may be fighting the best he ever has.
Dawson is what Tarver once was (when he defeated Roy Jones on two occasions) conditioned, skilled, fast and
powerful. It will be quite the role reversal for Tarver from when Mason The Line Dixon (his character)
defeated the veteran Rocky Balboa. In this battle of southpaws, Dawson dethrones the aging Magic Magic and
claims his second and third (IBF & IBO) light heavyweight titles.
Showtime Championship Boxing announcers Steve Albert and Al Bernstein will call the action from
ringside with Jim Gray serving as roving reporter and Karyn Bryant as special correspondent. The
executive producer of Showtime Championship Boxing is David Dinkins, Jr. with Bob Dunphy directing.
Tarver-Dawson will be promoted by AT Entertainment and Gary Shaw Productions in association with Palms Casino
Resort Las Vegas. Peter-Klitschko will be co-promoted by Duva Boxing, K2 Promotions and Don King Productions.
