The Deutsche Bank Championship is a professional PGA Tour golf competition that occurs every year on Labor Day weekend. The tournament began in 2003 and is held at the Tournament Players Club of Boston in Norton, Massachusetts. TPC Boston is a private golf club located in Norton, Massachusetts, approximately 25 miles south of Boston, it is operated by the PGA Tour TPC Network, is rated as par 72 and has a length of 7241 yards.
The 2011 Deutsche Bank Championship will feature the top 100 PGA TOUR golfers as they compete in the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup and for the $1,350,000 million first prize.The format of the competition is stroke play and is usually played in. This year the competition is going to take place from August 30th to September 5th, 2011. The tournament is part of the FedEx Cup playoffs since 2007.
Since the championship started it has raised $19.4 million for the Tiger Woods Foundation and New England-area charities. TPC Boston was remodeled by architect Gil Hanse and PGA TOUR Player Consultant Brad Faxon in 2007. In 2008, the Deutsche Bank Championship became the first and only "Carbon Neutral" event on the PGA TOUR.
Charley Hoffman is the defending champion and we are sure that this year Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are going to give some good competition to each other and also to the defending champion.
