He was named "Fighter of the Decade" for the 1990s by the Boxing Writers Association of America. Jones has an impressive record of 60 fights, 54 wins, 40 by KO, 6 losses, no draws or no contests. He has also been part of the Hollywood arena by interpreting Captain Ballard in The Matrix Reloaded. Jones won the 1984 United States National Junior Olympics in the 119 lb weight division, the 1986 United States National Golden Gloves in the 139 lb (63 kg) weight division and the 1987 United States National Golden Gloves in the 156 lb weight division. He also represented the United State in the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games where he got a Silver medal. His most recent bout was against Danny Green where he was defeated by Green in the first round via KO.

He was born in Philadelphia in 1965,Hopkins is also the first fighter to retain all 4 major boxing governing body belts. His most recent fight was against Carlos Ornelas in Dec. 2009, Hopkins defeated Ornelas in a 12-round bout by unanimous decision.
