The Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship continues Sunday, October 9th, as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races for 400 miles at the 1.5-mile Kansas Speedway in Kansas. ESPN is going to televise the event nationwide at 1:00 PM ET.
The Hollywood Casino 400 is a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car race held at Kansas Speedway and it is currently the fourth of the ten races in the Chase for the Sprint Cup. In 2009-2010 the race was sponsored by Kraft Foods so the race used to be knows as Prece Chopper 400 presented by Kraft Foods.
It was announced back in Feb. 2011, that the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway will be sponsoring the fall race for the next 10 years beginging on Oct. 9th, 2011. Also, they are sponsoring the construction of a new facility that is expected to open in the first half of 1212. The $300 million Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway is being developed by Kansas Entertainment, a joint venture of Kansas Speedway Development Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of International Speedway Corporation (ISC), and Penn Hollywood Kansas, Inc., a subsidiary of Penn National Gaming Inc. This facility will include a state-of-the-art casino with capacity for 2,300 slot machines, 61 table games and 25 poker tables on a 100,000 square-foot gaming floor. Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway will also feature 28,000 square-feet of other amenities including restaurants, clubs and nightlife attractions.
Kansas Speedway is an auto racetrack in Kansas City, Kansas. The track held its first race on June 2, 2001, when the Winston West series contested the Kansas 100. The top-level NASCAR Sprint Cup series holds the annual Price Chopper 400 at the track. In 2004, Joe Nemechek became the first driver to complete the double at Kansas Speedway by winning both the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series races in one weekend.
