MLB Preview

The MLB 2012 season started March 28th, 2012 and end on Oct. 3rd (earliest possible date) and we have here a short preview from each of the teams from both of the leagues. This time will be the 111th consecutive season in which the American League and the National League will play at the same time.

The season will start with the Miami Marlins vs St. Louis Cardinals game. This game is going to be played on Opening Day on April 4th, 2012. The game is going to be played at the new Marlins Park and it will be televised on ESPN2.

Some other important details include that the All Star Game will be played on July 10th, 2012 in Kansas City, Missouri. The game will decide home field for the 2012 World Series, which will begin (tentatively) on October 24th, and end no later than November 1st if the series goes all seven games.

Another good game to keep in mind is the Civil Rights Game which will be played on August 19th, 2012 at the Turner Field in Atlanta, Georgia. This game is going to be held between the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies.

The Major League Baseball postseason was expanded to include a second wild card team in each league beginning in the 2012 season. The season will mark the last for the Houston Astros as a member of the National League.
