2014 NFL Preseason Betting Lines

Grab your helmets and jerseys as you have reached the greatest NFL preseason odds on the Internet. Popularity of NFL preseason betting can be linked to America’s growing addiction to football. Bettors, particularly those in the United States who have survived a five-month hiatus from their favorite wagering sport, seem unwilling (or unable) to endure another five weeks before the NFL preseason, which kicks off on Aug. 3rd for the Hall of Fame game, makes the NFL regular season on Sept. 7th seem like it is so close. Bettors start craving action, gamblers often plunge into the preseason.

Coaching is key element to the NFL Pre Season, unlike the regular season where the main purpose for the team is to win the game, this may not always be the case, and it is often not a necessity for a team to try and win the game. During the NFL preseason the coaches most important goals are getting players in game time situations, finding out strengths and weaknesses, deciding on starters for open positions, and ultimately doing whatever it takes to get the team ready to be productive and win in the regular season.

So, while every team will be trying to win during the first week in September, that will not necessarily be the case for each team during the first week in August. Teams simply have different motivations and different goals for the preseason than they do for the regular season.

Lastly, I personally like to take a close look at teams that are 0-2 or 0-3. Simply because no team wants to head into the regular season on a losing note. Ending up 0-4 in the preseason can have a psychological affect on a team that can carry over into the regular season. This angle can become even stronger if the 0-3 team is playing a 3-0 team. If a coaching angle also agrees, you have the makings of a best bet. These are all things to account for when assessing preseason football predictions.
