The Tour Championship presented by Coca-Cola showcases the Playoff Finale for the FedExCup at which the top 30 players on the FedExCup points list battle it out at historic East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. The FedExCup champion will be crowned at THE TOUR Championship. Since 1998, THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola has donated more than $13 million to charity, both locally and nationwide. The top-30 players in FedExCup points after the BMW Championship qualify for THE TOUR Championship, ensuring a real shootout as all 30 players in the field will have a mathematical chance of winning the FedExCup with a victory at the event.

Starting from 1997, the Championship was held in different places, either at Champions Golf Club in Houston, Texas, or at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia.

Since 2004, East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Ga., has been the permanent home of this tournament. The home course of Cink and legendary golfer Bobby Jones and the oldest golf course in Atlanta. This course is not only history but also philanthropic. The golf club's founding sponsors have contributed more than $18 million to the East Lake Foundation to help transform one of the nation's worst public housing projects into a thriving, mixed-income community.

2009 The Tour Results

Phil Mickelson won The Tour Championship and $1.35 million on Sunday.

Mickelson delivered his third win of the year. He shot a bogey-free, 5-under-par 65 under sunny skies to finish at 9-under 271 to beat Woods by three shots and wind up in second place in the playoffs. Despite his runner-up finish, Woods, who closed with a 70, claimed his second FedExCup title.
