The Subway Fresh Fit 500 is part of the annual NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship. This is one of the 4 races in this campionship that is measure by kilometer instead of miles or laps. 500 kilometers or 312 laps(312 miles) is the distance of this motor racing event. The Subway Fresh Fit is the second stop of the Sprint Cup Series championship after Daytona 500, this year it will take place on March 4th, 2012.

Since there are another race sponsor by Subway, the now Tums 500 at Martinsville the Subway Fesh 500 was revised and then added the Fit to the name. As part of the Nascar Realignment a second race was awarded to the Phoenix International Speedway in Avondale, Arizona. This race was move from April to Feb.

The 2010 race extended to 378 laps due to green-white-checker finish. This rule is a rule implemented into many levels of automobile racing in the United States. When the race would otherwise end during a yellow-flag caution condition (during which no competition may take place, including a no passing restriction), this rule gives the field an attempt to finish the race under a green-flag, racing condition. Instead of ending the race when the stated distance has been covered, it continues until the green flag is given (signalling the end of the caution condition), at which time the drivers resume the race with two laps remaining - regardless of the actual number of laps covered to that point. They then get the white flag, signaling the final lap, and then take the checkered flag, signaling the end of the race.

2012 Subway Fresh Fit 500 Results

This past Sunday March 4th Denny Hamlin with the Joe Gibbs Racing team won the Subway Fresch Fit 500 at the Phoenix International Raceway in Avondale, Arizona. Kevin Harvick was second and Greg Biffle in third. Kevin Harvick led the most laps during the competition, 88 laps.

The Subway Fresh Fit 500 has a new champion, after finishing second on last year challenge and having 66 race no win streak in the Sprint Cup Series, he ended up winning this race yesterday at the Phoenix International Speeway. This is Gordon's 83rd career win and his first win since 2009 in Texas.
