UFC 144 will take place in Japan on February 26th, 2012 atthe Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. This will be the first event after UFC 29 that will be held in Japan, because of the time zone difference it will air live on Saturday, Feb. 25th in the USA.

Like in all MMA and UFC events some injuries have come up since the bouts were announced, Takanori Gomi is facing newcomer Eiji Mitsuoka who replaced George Sotiropoulos, another fighter that was replaced is Leonard Garcia he was expected to face Zhang Tiequan due to injury as well.

One of the main events will be the bout between Quinton "Rampage" Jackson who will face Ryan Bader. Jackson is returning to Japan after 6 years to have fought a UFC event in that country. Mark Hunt vs Cheick Kongo is a another premier fight on the UFC 144 card, Hunt is a well trained Japanese kickboxer and Kongo a french heavyweight contender. Yoshiriro Akiyama is facing Jake Shields, Joe Lauzon vs Anthony Pettis.

UFC 144 Results

Frankie Edgar was defeated by Benson Henderson on Saturday at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan. The main event was the Lightweight title, Henderson(15-2) dominated the bout the entire event keeping Edgar(14-2-1)under attack. Edgar was bleeding early in the fight, in round two his left eye swelled up and his nose was bleeding. In round 5 Henderson had Edgar on the ground almost for the duration of it. The judges favored Henderson 49-46, 48-47 and 49-46.
