After the changes made to the announced bouts all over this past month Faber vs. Barao was oficially announced to be the main card event, since Jose Aldo was removed from the event due to injury, and no replacement has been found yet for his opponent Erik koch; however, it still will be an amazing fight between this two outstanding competitors.
Barao who currently fights as bantamweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, has been holding one of the longest unbeaten streaks in MMA with 28 straight fights without a loss. He is ranked at this time the #3 bantamweight fighter in the world by Sherdog.
He started his professional career as MMA fighter back in 2005, eversince he has compited for Shooto, Brazil. He has a black belt in brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is listed to be a very promising prospect for MMA acording to Sherdog.
In the other hand, Faber is currently fighting as a bantamweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, he is ranked #2 by sherdog in his category, Urija is brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt under the constant trainning of Fabio "Pateta" Prado.
Faber made his professional MMA debut as part of the Gladiator Challenge promotion on November 12, 2003. And has the distinction of being the only MMA fighter defeating the numer one in his current category; Dominic Cruz.
