The Blue Monster 2011 Cadillac Championship
The 2011 Cadillac Championship is slated for March 10th-13th at Doral Golf Resort & Spa and will feature top players from around the world.
The World Golf Championships-CA Championship changed the title name this year, to Cadillac Championship because of the new sponsorship with this company. The Championships will feature the top 50 players from the Official World Golf Ranking along with top finishers on the money lists of six Tours comprising the International Federation of PGA Tours (PGA TOUR, European Tour, Australasian Tour, Japan Golf Tour, Asian Tour and Southern Africa Tour).

The World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship will honor members of our U.S. Armed Forces and their families throughout tournament week as part of the Birdies for the Brave military outreach initiative.
The World Golf Championships were developed to enhance the competitive structure of professional golf worldwide while preserving the traditions and strengths of the individual tours and their events.
The Asian PGA joined the International Federation of PGA Tours as a full-fledged member in November 1999.
In March 2000, the Canadian Tour was added as an Associate Member. The World Golf Championships have been conducted on five different continents.
The Blue Monster project also involved a course-wide landscape renovation, as well as a complete bunker make-over of all bunkers on the course. The project included a complete cart path replacement, featuring new concrete to help improve course management. This was highlighted by the installation of special 10-foot-wide paths, with extra re-enforcement added to a few strategic areas of the course to help in Cadillac Championship tournament set-up.
Tiger Woods won the 2007 CA Championship in March, the first time Doral Golf Resort & Spa hosted the tournament, which had previously been played at five different courses around the world. But the Blue Monster has tested TOUR players for many years, serving as host of a TOUR event since 1962.
The World Golf Championships feature elite players in a variety of competitive formats at venues around the world.
Since the series debut in 1999, World Golf Championships have been held in nine countries, with that figure to rise to 10 after the Barbados World Cup in December. The Cadillac Championship has been played five times in Europe and twice previously in the United States.
