Utah Jazz Vs L.A. Clippers Game 1 Spread & Pick

Utah Jazz Vs L.A. Clippers Game 1 Spread & Pick

Chris Paul and the fourth-seeded Los Angeles Clippers will look to take the first step toward overcoming their repeated postseason failures when they host the fifth-seeded Utah Jazz in the opener of their first round Western Conference playoff series on Saturday.

Now, let’s find out if the Clippers will cover the NBA betting line against a Utah Jazz ballclub that won an identical amount of regular season games as L.A.

No. 5 Utah Jazz Vs No. 4 Los Angeles Clippers Spread & Pick

When: 10:30 PM  ET, Saturday, April 15, 2017
Where: Staples Center, Los Angeles, California
TV: ESPN
Spread: LA Clippers -5
Total: 202.5

Why Bet The Utah Jazz Odds at +5

Utah closed out the regular season by winning four of five while beating playoff participants, Portland, Golden State and San Antonio along the way. The Jazz are ranked an uninspiring 28th in scoring (100.7 ppg), but a surprising ninth in field goal shooting percentage (46.6%) and identical ninth in three-point shooting (37.2%).

Defensively, Utah led the league in points allowed by limiting the opposition to just 96.8 points per game while also ranking second in field goal shooting defense (44.3%) and first in rebounds allowed (40.2 per game).

In addition to all-star small forward Gordon Hayward (21.9 ppg), Utah gets double-digit scoring from veteran point guard George Hill (16.9 ppg), blossoming center Rudy Gobert (14.0 ppg) and athletic swingman Rodney Hood (12.7 ppg) while veterans Derek Favors and Joe Johnson each contribute just over 9.0 points per contest.

Why Bet The Los Angeles Clippers Odds at -5

The best reason to back the Clippers in this contest is that they’re red-hot right now. L.A. closed out the regular season with seven consecutive victories and ranks an impressive sixth in scoring (108.7 ppg). Doc Rivers’ squad finished the regular season ranked second in field goal shooting percentage (47.5%) and seventh in three-point shooting (37.5%).

Defensively, L.A. finished the regular season ranked 12th in points allowed (104.4 ppg) while also finishing 11th in field goal shooting defense (45.2%) and eighth in three-point defense (34.9%). The Clippers have a trio of all-stars in point guard Chris Paul (18.1 points, 9.2 assists), forward Blake Griffin (21.6 ppg, 8.1 rpg) and center DeAndre Jordan (12.7 ppg, 13.8 rpg). L.A. also gets double-figure scoring from veteran snipers J.J. Redick (15.0 ppg) and Jamal Crawford (12.3 ppg) and backup combo guard Austin Rivers (12.0 ppg).

Utah Jazz Vs L.A. Clippers Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction

The Clippers won three of four meetings against the Jazz this season with one victory coming by eight points and the other two coming by double figures. With that said, I like Chris Paul and company to get the big win and ATS cover as they should get a huge lift from their home fans and take on an inexperienced Utah team that hasn’t been in the playoffs in ages.

With the Clippers going 3-1-1 ATS in their last five home games and Utah going 1-5 ATS in their last six meetings against L.A., I say keep it simple and back the underachieving Clippers to win and cover.

My final score prediction is Clippers 102 Utah 96

Memphis vs San Antonio NBA Playoff Game 1 Odds, Pick & Betting Preview

Memphis vs San Antonio Playoff Game 1 Odds & Pick

The second-seeded San Antonio Spurs will look to dispacth the seventh-seeded Memphis Grizzlies when they take to the court in South Texas for Game 1 of their first round Western Conference playoff series on Saturday.

With the title hopefuls splitting four regular season matchups evenly, let’s find out if the Spurs can hold it down as a huge home favorite in Game 1 and advance their odds at winning the 2017 NBA Title.

No. 7 Memphis Grizzlies Vs No. 2 San Antonio Spurs NBA Playoff Game 1 Odds, Pick & Betting Preview

When: Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 8:00 PM ET
Where: AT&T Center, San Antonio, Texas

Spread: San Antonio -9
Total: 191.5

Why Bet The Memphis Grizzlies Odds at +9

There’s a good reason to back the Grizzlies in this Game 1 matchup and it’s because Memphis won two of their four regular season meetings against the Spurs as previously mentioned.

Not only that, but the Grizz have a phenomenal defense that finished third in the league in points allowed (100.0 ppg) and still have a trio of very quality veteran players in Mike Conley (20.6 ppg), Marc Gasol (19.6 ppg) and Zach Randolph (14.1 ppg, 8.2 rpg).

Unfortunately, the Grizzlies dropped five of their final six regular season games and seven of 10 overall while losing to the Spurs twice during the season-ending stretch.

Memphis’ uninspiring losses to lowly Sacramento, the L.A. Lakers and Pistons during that span tell me they’re going to be in trouble against a San Antonio team that is much better at the offensive end of the floor and statistically better defensively as well.

Why Bet The San Antonio Spurs Odds at -9

MVP contender Kawhi Leonard (25.7 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 1.8 spg) and the second-seeded San Antonio Spurs posted a blistering 10-4 mark over their last 13 games while beating the Grizzlies twice along the way in addition to Cleveland and Oklahoma City, so I wouldn’t put too much stock in their two previous losses to Memphis this season.

Led by Leonard the Spurs rank a respectable 13th in scoring (105.4 ppg) while also finishing the regular season ranked a stellar second in points allowed (98.1 ppg). In addition to their superstar small forward, the Spurs also have three other players that average double figures in veterans LaMarcus Aldridge (17.3 ppg), Pau Gasol (12.4 ppg) and Tony Parker (10.1 ppg).

Memphis vs San Antonio Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction

The Spurs and Grizzlies split the regular season series 2-2 with both teams winning their two home contests. While I like the Spurs to get the series-opening win at home in this contest, I just don’t see them beating Memphis by the 10 points it would take for them to cover the spread.

San Antonio has gone 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 1-7 ATS in their last eight home games against a team with a losing road record while Memphis has gone 4-0 ATS against the Spurs over the last four meetings. The Grizzlies find a way to narrowly cover in a close defeat.

My final score prediction is San Antonio 99 Memphis 94

Bucks Vs Raptors Game 1 Line, Pick & TV Info

Bucks Vs Raptors Game 1 Line, Pick & TV Info

The third-seeded Toronto Raptors will take the first step toward getting back to the Eastern Conference Finals at the very least when they host the upstart sixth-seeded Milwaukee Bucks in an intriguing first round Eastern Conference matchup that features a trio of all-star performers.

Now let’s find out which NBA squad will advance their odds at winning the 2017 NBA Title.

No. 6 Milwaukee Bucks Vs No. 3 Toronto Raptors Playoff Game 1 Odds, Pick & Betting Preview

Toronto is a 6.5-point home favorite when this game goes down on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 5:30 PM ET, live from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario while airing live on ESPN. Happy hunting.

When: Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 5:30 PM ET
Where: Air Canada Centre, Toronto, Ontario
TV: ESPN
Spread: Toronto -6.5
Total: 201.5

Why Bet The Milwaukee Bucks Odds at +6.5

The Bucks are a good bet to cover the spread in Game 1 seeing as how they beat Toronto 101-94 the last time they met on March 4 to cash in as a 1-point home favorite that day. Milwaukee also has a genuine superstar in still-blossoming, do-it-all forward Giannis Antetokounmpo (22.9 ppg, 5.4 apg, 8.7 rpg) and hit the postseason playing decent basketball by winning two of their final three regular season games and seven of their last nine overall. Milwaukee is also the better shooting team and has the edge in bench production. Last but certainly not least, the Bucks are one of the better defensive teams in the league after finishing the regular season ranked ninth in points allowed (103.8 ppg).

Why Bet The Toronto Raptors Odds at -6.5

The Raptors are a great bet in this contest seeing as how they hit the postseason with some impressive momentum after winning four straight and six of seven to close out the regular season. Toronto also has a pair of all-stars in point guard Kyle Lowry (22.4 ppg) and DeMar DeRozan (27.3 ppg) and a trio of very good frontcourt players in Serge Ibaka and Jonas Valanciunas and DeMarre Carroll. The Raptors also took three of four from Milwaukee during the regular season and recorded a solid 28-13 SU mark at home.

Bucks Vs Raptors Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction

I love Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo (who doesn’t), but the fact of the matter is that Milwaukee doesn’t have much postseason experience and can often have some seriously perplexing possessions while Toronto is a much smarter team and has the huge edge in experience having reached the conference finals a year ago where they took two games off of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Bucks are a dismal 1-5 ATS in their last six meetings against the Raptors and 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record while Toronto has gone 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against teams from the Central Division and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record.

Fueled by what will surely be an emotional arena, Toronto gets the win and narrow ATS cover against the mostly inexperienced Bucks.

My final score prediction is Toronto 103 Milwaukee 95
