Contador cruised down the Champs-Elysees to win the Tour for a second time Sunday after 2,141 miles over three weeks of racing. He repelled many challenges in the mountains, excelled in the two time-trials -- winning a pivotal race against the clock in the 18th stage -- and won the first Alpine stage.
Tour de France 2007 Results
| Tour de France winner Alberto Contador said Friday he has always competed clean, rejecting doping accusations stemming from his alleged links to a Spanish drug investigation.
The Spaniard won this year's Tour de France by 23 seconds over Australia's Cadel Evans after race leader Michael Rasmussen was removed by his team after evidence that he lied about his whereabouts during training to evade drug testing.
Contador will have to look for a new team after Discovery Channel Team announced it would disband after being unable to secure sponsorship for next season. |
