The Odds-On Favorite To Win The Indy 500: Scott Dixon +800

Dixon won the Indy 500 back in 2008 from the pole position, but more importantly, he’s a four-time IndyCar champion (2003, 2008, 2013, 2015) and ha recorded a whopping 40 win in his career. Dixon finished third at the 2017 Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg and fourth at the 2017 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach and will undoubtedly have one of the bet shots to bag his second Indy 500 trophy later this month.

The Smart Pick To Win The Indy 500: Juan Pablo Montoya +800

Montoya was recently replaced as Penske’s full-time driver by Joe Newgarden, but that’s one of the reasons I like the 41-year-old to challenge in what could very well be his last Indy 500 race. While it would appear that Montoya’s time has passed, the Colombian-born superstar won the Indy 500 in 2015 and I believe he will challenge for the win again if only because he’ll want to go out like a champion should.

The Longshot Pick To Win The Indy 500: Alexander Rossi +2000

I don’t know why Alexander Rossi is a +2000 kind of longshot pick, but I like the value the 25-year-old Californian is offering after getting the coveted win as a rookie last year from the 11th position. Now, a fixture with Andretti AutoSport, I think Rossi is really getting overlooked, particularly seeing as how he’ got one of the biggest names in the sport behind him and is still looking to make his mark, even after bagging last year’s Indy 500 title. If you’re looking for a longshot that is offering great value as something of a middle-of-the-pack longshot, then Alexander Rossi is your guy!
