Key Game For The Knicks If They See Playoffs Hopes
This is a very important game for the Knicks as they have begun their climb up a very steep cliff to see if they have what it takes to make it to the playoffs, if they do even at best case scenario I´m expecting an 8 th seed but before that they need to pull out a huge win over the defending champions. Miami knows that it lost the first meeting in New York and even though they won the second one in Miami, they need to beat this team again to also get some momentum in the East back… Seeing how it has fallen heavily on the Pacers this season.
The Knicks have found themselves on offense, Melo and JR Smith have been communicating much better since the beginning of the New Year but defensively they are still a mess, the highlight of this season was going to be Shumpert and Chandler´s defensive explosion but instead it’s been a complete failure because of both age and film. For the Knicks to travel to Miami and beat the Heat on their home floor could very possibly be the momentum that sends this team on a winning streak possibly landing them that coveted 8 th seed but either way without defense, it really won’t make a difference.
Miami seems to be very happy with Wade´s recovery on knee issues yet again and they also seem to be taking their time with new comer Greg Oden as they will expect a solid contribution come late June. The Heat are on a roll after their big win in Oklahoma City but they need to find a little more depth under the rim, they lack a shooting center that can pull defenses out of the painted area on the other side of the floor. I have seen a few shops around Europe that opened the line of this game around -7.5 and -8.
From what I can see from this Knicks team, I just do not see them getting this win, I also think they will fall behind late in this game because of a defensive break down that will give the Heat a double digit win, because of the lack of honestly decent teams I do think that New York makes the post season but no further than the opening round… Sorry Knicks fans!
