NFL Sunday Football Free Picks – Early Games
Minnesota Vikings +7.0 over BALTIMORE RAVENS
Aside from being blown out by Seattle, Minnesota has played remarkably well in their past five games, going 2-2-1 SU and 4-1 ATS. They’ve pushed their last two matches to overtime and Baltimore just doesn’t seem like an offensive unit that can pull away from anyone. The Vikings are finally using Adrian Peterson like the “give it to him on every play” back he is and even against a stiff Ravens defense, you have to love what Minnesota is bringing to the table. They love keeping games close because they have an offense that can grind you with Peterson and a defense that really can’t stop anyone. The Vikings will still lose, but the cover will be there for the taking.
Kansas City Chiefs -3.0 over WASHINGTON REDSKINS
The Redskins look like they’re on the verge of imploding. Nothing about them screams “stability” even though they seem to be playing well in spite of all their in-house issues. Against the Chiefs, they’re in for an outright beating and I just can’t imagine RG3 surviving the onslaught that that defensive front is going to throw at him. You may not love Alex Smith but he’s simply a much more reliable take in this game.
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS -2.5 over Buffalo Bills
Am I the only one that thought the Bills looked like a tanking team when they coughed up two dumb fumbles against Atlanta that cost them the game? Either way, Buffalo is just 1-6 ATS when travelling and Tampa will have a much easier time finding breathing room against a Bills team that simply can’t sustain any type of rhythm. At home, I have less worries about Tampa and Mike Glennon. Hopefully this time Napoleon Dynamite can hold on to the damn football.
PITTSBURGH STEELERS -3.0 over Miami Dolphins
Both teams are on comfortable cover streaks with Miami going 2-1 SU and 3-0 ATS over the last three weeks. But Pittsburgh is also 3-1 SU and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games and 3-0 SU and ATS in their last three home games since the bye week. This is a natural home line for Pittsburgh so it’s a bit of a toss up. We’re never sure what Miami is going to do week in and week out, but against Pittsburgh they have an uphill climb I’m not sure they can overcome.
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES -2.5 over Detroit Lions
The biggest early game on the schedule for one simple reason: both teams are fighting for the division title. Granted, the NFC East and North are downright awful this season but It’s still a fun sidebar. Why back the Eagles? Simple – the whole teams seems to ooze with confidence because Foles does what Chip Kelly asks of him so damn efficiently. The Eagles are a nice 3-1 ATS during their four-game winning streak and while Detroit has a lot of fun upstart potential – and Calvin could obliterate this secondary – the Lions are a mistake prone team that has had trouble closing out against good teams. If you don’t believe me, you’ll see it on Sunday. Air on the side of caution here and take the home favorites.
CINCINATTI BENGALS -6.0 over Indianapolis Colts
The Colts are downright terrible on the road and Cincinnati is averaging a +16.8 point differential at home while going 5-0 SU and ATS at home. You can bet on the Colts all you want, but this line has been growing and growing as the week has marched on. Grab it now for the home bound Bengals before it soars too high.
Oakland Raiders +2.5 over NEW YORK JETS
I mean, I would prefer that you not bet on this game at all but it feels like the Jets are leaving money on the table for anyone who doesn’t bet against them with everything they have. The Jets are in a horrifying 1-4 SU and ATS slide and while Oakland hasn’t been winning games that much this year, they’re still a wildly strong cover team that’s gone 3-1-1 ATS in their 5 road trips this season.
