Super Bowl LII Odds Favor New England To RepeatJosh Bailey
The New England Patriots, fresh off their miracle 34 to 28 overtime win versus the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI, are the favorites in Las Vegas to repeat as Super Bowl Champions. New England opens as a 5 to 1 chalk to take down the NFC representative in the 2018 Super Bowl.
This year’s runner-up, Atlanta, opens at 12 to 1 odds to win Super Bowl LII. One should expect that plenty of future Super Bowl handicappers jump onto the Falcons since they not only return the reigning NFL MVP in QB Matt Ryan, but their best cornerback, Desmond Trufant, should be healthy after suffering an injury that prevented him from playing for almost half of the season.
The Dallas Cowboys are at 8 to 1 to win Super Bowl LII. It’s hard to imagine the Cowboys taking a step back after going 14 and 2 straight up this season. Dallas only needs to improve on defense to get past a team like Green Bay in the NFC Playoffs. If Cowboys’ QB Dak Prescott improves just a bit, the Cowboys could take home the Vince Lombardi Trophy in 2016.
In regards to the Cowboys, plenty of teams should inquire about QB Tony Romo’s services. Romo is healthy. He could bolster the chances of a team like San Francisco while the 49’ers groom a young quarterback. Or, he could fill in nicely for the Buffalo Bills if Buffalo decides not to resign Tyrod Taylor. The guess here is that Romo ends up playing for John Fox in Chicago.
Chicago, along with the New York Jets and Los Angeles Rams, are at 100 to 1 odds to win Super Bowl LII. The San Francisco 49’ers and Cleveland Browns are both at 300 to 1 odds. The 49’ers and Browns are the longest shots on the board.
A couple of other teams that are at 12 to 1 along with Atlanta are the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks. The Pittsburgh Steelers are a solid third choice at 10 to 1 to win Super Bowl LII while Denver is at 16 to 1 and Kansas City is at 18 to 1. Seven teams show up at 20 to 1 to win the 2018 Super Bowl. Those teams are: Carolina, Oakland, the New York Giants, Minnesota, Arizona, Baltimore, and Indianapolis.
U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, hosts Super Bowl LII on Feb. 4, 2018.
