The Coca-Cola 600, is an annual 600-mile (965.606 km) NASCAR Sprint Cup Series points race held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina during Memorial Day weekend.  The first race was ran back in 1960, when Joe Lee Johnson claimed the inaugural event victory. The race is going to take place at the Charlotte Motor Speedway this Sunday May 28th, 2017 at 6:00 am ET.

Charlotte Motor Speedway is located in Concord, North Carolina, to the north of Charlotte. It features a 1.5 mile long quad-oval track that seats 165,000 people, with room for 50,000 more spectators in the infield. Constructed in 1959, it was the first speedway to host nighttime superspeedway racing (in 1992) in the"modern era," the first being the now defunct Raleigh, N.C. Speedway in 1958. The speedway is considered the home base of NASCAR, with 90% of NASCAR teams being based within 50 miles.

Comprised of the same three members who formed the band in 1969 - Billy F. Gibbons (guitar), Dusty Hill (bass) and Frank Beard (drums) - ZZ Top will perform a 45-minute set in the infield of the legendary 1.5-mile superspeedway just hours before NASCAR's best are scheduled to take the track for the ultimate test of man and machine. The concert is free for all Coca-Cola 600 race ticket holders.
