The Valero Texas Open is a PGA TOUR golf competition that started back in 1922. It was first called the Texas Open, now called the Valero Texas Open, this year it will be celebrating its 91st Anniversary. The Texas Open is the longest-running tournament in the same city on the PGA TOUR.

If you're looking for the best advice for golf betting, you've certainly come to the right place. The Valero Texas Open takes place from April 21st through April 24th, 2016 at the TPC San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas, featuring Jimmy Walker, Zach Johnson, Adam Scott and Jordan Spieth.

Jimmy Walker is the defending champion the Valero Texas Open. Considering his success at this event last season, Walker could be favored in golf betting.

Jimmy Walker shot an 11-under 277 at the 2015 Valero Texas Open, defeating runner-up Jordan Spieth by four strokes to take the crown. Billy Horschel was third last year, finishing seven strokes behind at 4-under. Walker won two PGA Tour events in 2015, also taking home a victory at the Sony Open in Hawaii in January where he defended his title with a score of 23-under. He came close to winning a third tournament last year too, placing second at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in January, after losing to Patrick Reed in a playoff. Walker has captured eight professional wins in his career with five of those coming on the PGA Tour. He is ranked No. 22 in the world right now with his best finish of 2016 coming a the Farmers Insurance Open in January where he tied for fourth.

Despite coming up short at the Valero Texas Open last year, Spieth went on to have a breakout year in 2015, capturing five victories including two major championships. The Texas native is currently ranked No. 1 in the world right now and picked up his first win of 2016 at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions on January 10th where he finished at 30-under 262. Spieth will no doubt be looking to maintain his No. 1 ranking in the 2016 season.
