Atlanta Hawks at Indiana Pacers NBA Playoffs Betting Trends

What More Can The Pacer´s Prove?

The Pacers are currently the best team in the NBA right now, they have shown us throughout the course of this season that they demand respect and it will take the best of any team just to hang with them in a game. At this point they prepare to play a home game against the Warriors on a floor they have only seen defeat three times in the last 55 games. Golden State knows that even if they make the post season, without a win against a team like the Pacers they do not have what is required to make a deep run.

Starts: 03/04/2014 7:00PM
Bankers Life Fieldhouse, 125 S. Pennsylvania St.
Indianapolis, Indiana

One aspect of the game that has hurt the Pacers is opponents three ball, the Pacers are a very concentrated team on defense and they tend to stay in front of the man at all times but that causes distance on jump shots and if there is a team in the NBA that can get hot and stay hot it’s the Warriors. In their first game against Indiana the Warriors lost by 8 but kept it close all game long. The main focus point for Golden State here will be to find their shooting spots and get the ball to the right guy.

The Pacers run the ball better than any other team this season and the Warriors are not known for their transition defense nor their ability to get back as a team. I expect to see the Pacers take full advantage of pushing the ball with their guards. Really only looking for the inside post matchup when they are presented with the Warriors zone defense. Hibbert and the rest of the bad boys of this Pacer´s team will be -7 in this one and I think as long as they can control the Warriors passing game they will score the ball fairly easily, take Indiana in this game.

Will the Pelicans live up to the hype?

The Pelicans Are Looking To Take Off

Believe it or not the Pelicans have looked good in recent weeks, coming out of this season’s all-star game this young team has really shown some great endurance even in their losses, you can see that they are learning and Anthony Davis has stepped up his game tremendously to become the top player of this team. With the first two games split between the franchises and the road team taking the win in each one I actually like the Pelicans to push the Kings under the rim and looking to overpower recently suspended center DeMarcus Cousins.

NBA – New Orleans Pelicans vs. Sacramento Kings
The New Orleans Pelicans and the Sacramento Kings hit the hard-court tonight in NBA action.
Starts: 03/03/2014 10:00PM
Sleep Train Arena, One Sports Parkway
Sacramento, California

New Orleans will look to really use the mismatch between Davis and Cousins on the offensive side to their advantage given that Davis will force Cousins to leave his comfort zone in the painted area to cover his shooting ability while Gordon will take care of the inside shooting and attacking the rim. Being aggressive in this game will be the factor if they pull out the win. This team needs to push the ball and counter the Kings transition game because Sacramento attacks the basket looking for the foul on most positions.

The Kings newly acquired small forward Rudy Gay has really given this team an added push on defense, he has the ability to side step his opponent to cut off the lane and trap the ball, he leads the team in steals and seems to really play well with the Kings style of offense, look for a fast pace game with the Kings pressing the ball on both ends of the court. Cousins will be back from his one game suspension and I expect him to be an instant impact in this game to make up for his absence in their last contest.

Sacramento is -5 and Cousins will be the difference maker for them, I don’t see the Pelicans being able to stand with Sacramento down the stretch, so expect the Kings to take this one on their home floor.

Southern Illinois Salukis vs. (4) Wichita State Shockers

Wichita State Makes History!

This has been the type of season that players that attend smaller programs only dream about, for the first time in the MVC conference there is a team that not only is ranked as the #2 team in the Nation but also is the only team in division one college basketball to end their regular season undefeated this season. That’s right, for those who did not know the Wichita State Shockers have done just what their name says it all as they shocked the country. They have completed the best season in school as well as division history with a perfect 31-0 record, beating teams like BYU, Tennessee and Davidson to name a few.

This team has not only reached a top spot in this year’s NCAA Tournament but they have the defense to make a huge impact. That is what really sets this team apart this season. Holding their opponents to an average of less than 65 points a game ranking them #1 in the country they play the most unselfish basketball I have ever seen, they pass the ball for what seems like forever before they decide what the best way of attack is. They are ruthless when they make up their minds and play push the ball up the floor flawlessly.

I expect big things from this team in the tournament, I would not go as far as to say they will make the final four but I do see them squeezing their way in to possibly the elite eight. I still think that the only thing they lack to beat the top ranked teams in college is experience as well as playing from behind, something they really did not do much of this season. For what it´s worth it’s still an unbelievable achievement and they deserve it with the way they played. I wish them the best of luck at the big dance and remember that defense wins championships or in this case the tourney.
