NFL Preseason Week 3 Free Picks

How To Bet The Lions Vs Seahawks Monday Night Football Odds

Detroit travels to Seattle for Week 4’s Monday Night Game. Detroit is desperate for a victory after starting out the season 0 and 3. For Detroit, they just don’t appear close to being as good as the same team that made the playoffs last season.

Seattle finally got a win in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears. Seattle will be looking to make it 2 in a row. If the Seahawks can win, they’ll be at 2 and 2, which will put them right back into the conversation for the NFC West and the NFC Conference.

Why Bet On Detroit to Beat Seattle (-10)

The Lions are in trouble if the Seahawks know their plays.

Although Seattle’s defense is ranked third in the NFL in total yards allowed at 286.3 per game, the defense doesn’t appear to be as tough as it has been the past two seasons. Seattle’s defense is giving up 100.3 rushing yards per game.

Detroit only averages 45 rushing yards per game. But the number doesn’t really tell us how well Detroit’s offense matches up with Seattle’s defense. If Detroit commits to the running game, especially by giving the ball to RB Ameer Abdullah, they should approach 100 rushing yards in this one. The Lions also have two very good receivers in Golden Tate and Calvin Johnson. Detroit might be able to put some points on the board versus the Seahawks.

Why Bet On Seattle (-10) to Beat Detroit

Marshawn Lynch is 50/50 to play against the Lions with a hamstring injury

It’s impossible to beat Seattle at home. The Seahawks are one of the top teams in the NFL as it is. When they play at home, they might be the best team in the NFL.

Over the years, the Seahawks simply haven’t lost at Citi Field. In 2012, Seattle went 8 and 0 at home. In 2014, the Seahawks went 7 and 1 at home. Their only loss was to Arizona. In 2015, Seattle went 7 and 1 at home again. Their only loss at home was an early season game to Dallas.

The question is whether or not Seattle’s loss this season at home will be to the Detroit Lions. The answer is probably no, it won’t. Now, the question is what about the point spread? Seattle is giving up 10 points to a Lions team that has some talent on offense.

Seattle is definitely the better team, but will they outscore Detroit by 10 points? They were favored by 16.5 points over Chicago in Week 3. The Seahawks got 4 field goals from kicker Steve Hauschka. They scored only a single touchdown, a beautiful 30 yard pass from Russell Wilson to Jimmy Graham. Their other touchdown was scored via a 109 kickoff run back for a touchdown on special teams.

If Detroit can rush the football, they might keep it close. Seattle will win the game, but Detroit will cover the spread. My final score prediction is Seattle 23, Detroit 14.

How To Bet the Cowboys vs Saints Sunday Night Football Game

Two proud franchises battle it out in the Big Easy on Sunday night in a game which both teams need to win. Dallas gave it up in the second half versus Atlanta in Week 3. They suffered their first loss of the season.

For New Orleans a 0 and 3 start and Drew Brees’ should injury that kept him out of last week’s game are the Saints already out of playoff contention? New Orleans is desperate for their first win while Dallas will be looking to right a ship that has suddenly gone off track after injuries to QB Tony Romo and WR Dez Bryant. Which team will come out on top in the Sunday Night Football game?

Why Bet On Dallas to Beat New Orleans

Will the Cowboys survive until Romo’s return?

The Cowboys know that they should be at 3 and 0 and atop the NFC East Division by two games instead of only one. Dallas’ offense, with Brandon Weeden filling in for Romo, was unstoppable versus a very good Atlanta defense in the first half of their Week 3 game. RB Joseph Randle had already rushed for 91 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Cowboys had put 28 points on the board.

Dallas’ 11 point halftime lead evaporated in the second half as the Atlanta Falcons stormed back from the deficit and won the game 39 to 28. Dallas isn’t sure what happened. The defense imploded due to too much Matt Ryan and Julio Jones. Since New Orleans’ defense is much worse than Atlanta’s and the Saints don’t have anyone close to Julio Jones catching passes for them, Dallas has to feel good about their chances in the Big Easy on Sunday night.

Why Bet On New Orleans to Beat Dallas

Brees will throw everyday until kickoff

The Saints are in full on desperation mode. It’s unlikely that the group of players that GM Mickey Loomis and Coach Sean Payton have assembled in New Orleans will ever give up. But, it might not be up to them. Sometimes, teams just aren’t very good and right now it looks like that’s the case with the Saints.

The pressure for New Orleans is squarely on the defense’s shoulders. It’s no secret that the defensive woes for New Orleans are what have put the Saints into an 0 and 3 hole. Even if QB Drew Brees does play, the Saints will have no shot against the Cowboys unless they pressure Weeden. Without pressure, Weeden, like any quarterback in the NFL, will pick apart a depleted Saints’ secondary.

Things could go really wrong for New Orleans. Or, it could go really right. The offense has been playing well enough for the Saints to at least have won a game or two so far this season. Expect New Orleans to get their first win of the season in this matchup. My final score prediction is New Orleans 31, Dallas 28

A Closer Look At How To Bet the Cleveland Browns Vs San Diego Chargers NFL Week 4 Line & TV Info

How To Bet the Cleveland Vs San Diego Line & TV Info

The NFL week 4 odds have the visiting Cleveland Browns as 7.5-point underdogs when they face the San Diego Super Chargers at Qualcomm Stadium. Both teams have won one game while losing two. The game kicks off on CBS this Sunday, October, 4th. Cord-cutters can stream the game via CBSsports.com.

But San Diego could just as easily be at 2 and 1 instead of 1 and 2, which is why they are more than a touchdown favorite hosting Cleveland in Week 4. San Diego has all of the tools to be a force in the AFC West Division. Cleveland’s defense is playing worse so far this season than it did last season. Which team will turn it around after tough Week 3 losses on Sunday?

Why Bet On Cleveland to Beat San Diego (-8)

McCown is not the answer in Cleveland.

Cleveland’s defense is underperforming. The problem that the defense had versus Oakland in Cleveland’s 20 to 27 loss to the Raiders in Week 3 is that it didn’t stop Oakland’s passing or running game. The Raiders had rushed for 63 yards against Cincinnati. Oakland had rushed for 97 yards against Baltimore. Versus Cleveland, the Raiders rushed for an amazing 155 yards from 30 carries.

Things wouldn’t have been so bad if Cleveland’s defense hadn’t allowed Derek Carr to throw for 314 yards and 2 touchdowns. Cleveland’s defense is much better than it showed against Oakland. Versus Tennessee in Week 2, Cleveland held the Titans to a total of 219 passing yards.

Cleveland is going to give up either the pass or the run on Sunday. What they have to do is settle in and decide which one to give up. Against San Diego, they have to stop the run for sure or Rivers will kill them with the play action.

Why Bet On San Diego (-8) to Beat Cleveland

Will RB Melvin Gordon finally live up to the draft day hype?

San Diego’s offense couldn’t get anything going versus Minnesota’s defense in Week 3. The Chargers’ faced an extremely capable defense in Minnesota. Cleveland’s defense is going to give something up, as I highlighted above, which means that San Diego’s offense should be much more effective this Sunday.

The Chargers should try and establish the run with Melvin Gordon. San Diego will be able to pass against Cleveland’s defense if they need to. But, they can put the game away early if they are able to rush the football. Rookie RB Melvin Gordon should have a breakout game. Gordon hasn’t rushed for 100 yards in a game yet this season. Cleveland allows 158.3 rushing yards per game. That ranks thirty-second in the NFL.

If San Diego can get Gordon going on the ground, they’ll be in control of this from the outset. But, San Diego’s defense isn’t very good. Even though they’ll be in control, the Chargers might not cover until late in the matchup. My final score prediction is San Diego 31, Cleveland 21.
