UCLA Vs Texas A&M Spread & ATS Pick

UCLA and Texas A&M will kick off their respective 2016 regular seasons hoping to reach the four-team College Football Playoff when they square off in an intriguing Week 1 showdown.

Both teams won a respectable eight games a year ago and are hoping for bigger and better as they get set for their 2016 opener. Now, let’s find out which one of these playoff hopefuls will cover the ATS betting line!

UCLA Bruins Vs Texas A&M Aggies Week 1 Spread & ATS Pick

The public is 57% on the Texas A&M Aggies to cover the college football week 1 point spread. The point spread opened at TXAM -1.5. The line movement indicates more money is being placed on the side of the Texas A&M Aggies to cover.

Bet The UCLA Bruins at +3 Because…

The Bruins (8-5 SU, 6-7 ATS) are a good bet because they have the better quarterback and defense in this Week 1 opener.

UCLA has nine returning starters on defense and a gifted young quarterback that proved himself in a big way last season.

Head coach Jim Mora needs to find replacements for gifted running back Paul Perkins, both starting wide receivers and thee of five starters on the offensive line.

The good news is that Mora has a ‘special’ quarterback in sophomore signal-caller Josh Rosen, a player that earned Pac-12 Offensive Freshman of the Year honors last season after throwing for 3,669 yards and 23 touchdowns, although he did toss a costly 11 interceptions.

UCLA’s defense struggled mightily to stop the run last year in allowing three opponents to rush for at least 300 yards, including Nebraska in their season-ending Foster Farms Bowl game loss.

UCLA needs to find replacements for their top two defensive players from last season in All-American nose tackle Kenny Clark and gifted hybrid linebacker/safety Myles Jack.

Still, UCLA has plenty of talent to reload with starting with linebacker and 2015 leading tackler Jaylon Brown. The Bruins also have all four starters back from a secondary that led the Pac-12 in pass defense a year ago.

Bet The Texas A&M Aggies at -3 Because…

The Aggies (8-5 SU, 5-8 ATS) are a good bet in this Week 1 matchup because they can score the ball with the best teams in all of college football and are playing at home.

Texas A&M return six starters from its 2015 team but needs to replace three starters on the offensive line and will have a new starting quarterback in graduate transfer Trevor Knight.

Knight, a dual-threat signal-caller that got beat out by Baker Mayfield at Oklahoma, will be A&M’s fourth different starting quarterback in four years, but the former Sooner showed flashes of stardom by leading Oklahoma to a Sugar Bowl win over Alabama in 2013 while throwing for over 2,300 yards in 2014.

Running back Keith Ford, another transfer from Oklahoma, is expected to take over as the starting running back and the Aggies have a solid group of wide receivers that is led by sophomore Christian Kirk (80 receptions, 1,009 yards and seven touchdowns), senior Josh Reynolds, an All-SEC selection two years ago and Ricky Seals-Jones who had 45 catches for 560 yards as a sophomore last season.

Defensively, the Aggies returns seven starters, including dominating junior All-America defensive end Myles Garrett and senior Daeshon Hall. The pair combined for 19.5 sacks in 2015 and could improve on that figure this coming season.

The Aggies will need some solid play out of their new starting defensive tackles, Daylon Mack and Kingsley Keke as well as linebacker Otaro Alaka, the Defensive MVP of the 2014 Liberty Bowl and sophomore Richard Moore.

In the secondary, the Aggies are very solid after finishing fourth nationally in passing yards allowed (166.3 ypg). Safeties Justin Evans and Armani Watts are as good as any pair in the country while nickel back Donovan Wilson led the team with five interceptions last season.

UCLA vs Texas A&M ATS Pick & Final Score Prediction

UCLA will enter the 2016 regular season with their fair share of question marks, but with talented quarterback Josh Rosen under center, the Bruins are my pick to get the win in their opener despite being on the road.

Texas A&M has had a dysfunctional offseason with several players bolting for greener pastures and the Aggies still have several unanswered questions at quarterback, not to mention, multiple new starters on both, the offensive and defensive lines.

I’m going with the UCLA Bruins to cover the college football betting line, mostly because they’ll have the best quarterback on the field in the promising Josh Rosen!

My Pick: UCLA 41 Texas &M 35

Hawaii Vs Michigan Betting Line & Free Pick

Jim Harbaugh and the 7th-ranked Michigan Wolverines begin their quest for a spot in the College Football Playoff against Hawaii on Saturday, Sept. 3. The game takes place at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, MI. Kick-off is at 12:00 pm ET.

In Harbaugh’s first season as coach, Michigan went 7 and 6 against the spread. This includes trouncing Florida 41 to 7 in their bowl game. Hawaii went 3-9-1 ATS last season. The Warriors are 1 and 0 ATS this season.

Bet The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors Vs #7 Michigan Wolverines Betting Line & My Free Pick

The college football week 1 betting line opened with Michigan as a 42-point favorite. Public consensus is evenly split with 54% on Michigan Wolverines to cover. The point spread opened at MICH -41.5. The line movement indicates more money is being placed on the side of the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors to cover.

What: Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (0-1) at No. 7 Michigan Wolverines (0-0)

Start Time: 12:00 PM ET

Why Bet on the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors

Hawaii already has a game under their belt this season. The Warriors played California to a 31 to 51 loss on August 26. The line was Cal -20 until the day of when the line went up to Cal -21.5. The huge movement on California is how Hawaii was able to win against the spread while losing on the moneyline. That experience should only help Hawaii 7 days later against Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Why Bet on the Michigan Wolverines

Michigan is real contender for the College Football Playoff. Whomever Harbaugh starts at QB, it may not matter. The offensive line returns 5 starters. Michigan’s top 3 receiving targets from last season, including TE Jake Butt and WR Jehu Chesson, return.

The defense returns Jabril Peppers and Jourdan Lewis. Harbaugh recruited the number 1 ranked player in the nation, defensive lineman Rashan Gary, to Ann Arbor. Gary should start right away.

Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction

The Wolverines lost terrific defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin during the off-season. Durkin decided to go to Maryland as their head coach. No problem. All Harbaugh did was convince Don Brown, who was Boston College’s defensive coordinator, to come to Ann Arbor. Brown had the best defense in the nation at Boston College last season.

Michigan is a viable contender for the CFP while Hawaii has a long way to go just to win more than 3 games this season. Harbaugh won’t hold back in this game. It’s doubtful Hawaii puts a single point on the board. Michigan should roll.

My final score prediction is Michigan 49, Hawaii 0.

Kansas State Vs Stanford College Football Week 1 Odds

Kansas State Vs Stanford College Football Week 1 Odds

Kansas State travels to Stanford, CA to battle 8 ranked Stanford in what should be an entertaining game. The game kicks off this Friday, Sept. 2nd at 9:00 pm ET.

Stanford went 9 and 4 against the spread last season. This includes dominating Iowa 45 to 16 in the Rose Bowl. Kansas State went 6 and 7 ATS last season. This includes losing 23 to 45 to Arkansas in their bowl game.

Bet The Kansas State Wildcats Vs #8 Stanford Cardinal College Football Week 1 Odds

The public is 66% on the Stanford Cardinal to cover the spread. The college football week 1 odds favored Stanford at -15 when the point spread opened. The line movement indicates more money is being placed on the side of the Stanford Cardinal to cover.

What: Kansas State Wildcats (0-0) at No. 8 Stanford Cardinal (0-0)
When: Friday, September 2, 2016
Start Time: 9:00 PM ET

Spread: Stanford -16

Why Bet on the Kansas State Wildcats

Coach Bill Snyder will have his team ready to give it their all. Snyder is a legend in the Big 12. The stadium in Manhattan, Kansas, is named after Snyder. He has been one of the top coaches in the history of the sport.

The 2016 Wildcats also have some talent. They return a bevy of skill players on offense. The defense should be decent with some nice players returning as well. Kansas State won’t be a Top 10 team. But it will be good enough to play with Top 10 teams.

Why Bet on the Stanford Cardinal

Christian McCaffrey returns. McCaffrey is as versatile as former Buffalo Bill great Thurman Thomas. McCaffrey could win the Heisman Trophy this season. Last season, the running back rushed for 2,019 yards and 8 touchdowns. He caught 45 passes for 645 yards. He caught 5 touchdown passes.

College Football Week 1 Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction

It should take Stanford 2 to 3 weeks to gel as a football team. The Cardinal has to replace some players along the offensive line as well as terrific QB Kevin Hogan. McCaffrey will be effective right off the bat. But without Hogan under center, the Cardinal could find it tough to score against what should be a tough Kansas State defense.

That doesn’t mean that K-State wins this game. The Wildcats will be competitive versus Stanford. They won’t win but they will be competitive enough to keep this one under the point spread.

My final score prediction is Stanford 16, Kansas State 8.
