Oklahoma State Vs TCU Spread & ATS Pick

Week 10 College Football Upset Picks

Everyone loves winning a bet on an upset pick. It is just more satisfying. Underdogs are now 162-111 ATS for +42 units in October after a slow start to the season. Last week, college football moneyline dogs went 15-37 straight up for +12.76 units. Keep reading for my Week 10 college football upset picks.

Week 10 College Football Upset Picks

My Week 10 college football upset picks start with Wisconsin against Northwestern. Can Northwestern stop the Top 10 ranked Wisconsin Badgers? How will Pittsburgh handle Miami as a road dog? What will happen when upset-minded and ranked Oklahoma State battles Kansas State in Manhattan?

#8 Wisconsin at Northwestern
When:  Saturday, Nov. 5 at 12:00 pm ET
Where: Ryan Field, Evanston, IL
Odds: Northwestern +5.5

Analysis: The Wisconsin Badgers beat Nebraska 23 to 17 in overtime this past Saturday. The reason that Wisconsin didn’t cover had as much to do with Nebraska being a good team as it did with Wisconsin not playing as well as they usually do.

That’s why I’m comfortable with Northwestern at +5.5. Even if Wisconsin plays their best, I don’t think they beat Northwestern by more than 3 points in this game. Northwesternhas turned into a sneaky good Big Ten football team.

The Wildcats beat Iowa, Michigan State and Indiana in a row. They only lost by 4 points, 20 to 24, to Ohio State in Columbus as a +25.5 dog. Wisconsin should have some trouble winning this game straight up.

I like Northwestern to cover.

Week 10 College Football Upset Pick: Northwestern

Pittsburgh at Miami
When: Saturday, Nov. 5 at 12:30 pm ET
Where: Hard Rock Stadium, Miami, FL
Odds: Pittsburgh +3.5

Analysis: After starting out the season going 4-0 straight up, the Miami Hurricanes are reeling. Miami has lost an unbelievable 5 games in a row. This past Saturday they lost to lowly Notre Dame by a 30 to 27 score. How Miami couldn’t take advantage of Notre Dame’s horrible defense is beyond me.

I don’t think Pittsburgh just covers the spread in this game. I think that the Panthers beat Miami straight up. Pittsburgh had the lead over tough Virginia Tech in their last, a 36 to 39 loss. Pitthad won 3 games in a row before the loss to the Hokies.

I don’t think Miami’s defense is going to have any answer for Pittsburgh’s offense. I also feel that the Hurricanes have become a boring team on offense. Miami telegraphs their plays like crazy. Even though Pittsburgh’s defense isn’t nearly as good this season as it was last season, the Panthers should stop the Canes just enough for the straight up win.

Week 10 College Football Upset Pick: Pittsburgh

#22 Oklahoma State at Kansas State
When:  Saturday, Nov. 5 at 3:30 pm ET
Where: Bill Snyder Stadium, Manhattan, KS
Odds: Oklahoma State +1.5

Analysis: Oklahoma State heads to Kansas State as a +1.5 dog. That’s pretty intense considering how good Oklahoma State’s defense played against West Virginia in the Cowboys 30 to 27 win over the Mountaineers this past Saturday.

But Kansas State is no slouch. The Wildcats have won 3 out of their last 4. They’re 5 and 3 on the season. It’s always difficult to beat Bill Snyder in his stadium, on his field. The feeling here is that Oklahoma State is on such a roll (the longer coach Mike Gundry grows his hair the better the Cowboys play!) that Oklahoma State should keep it going in this.

If the Cowboys can put pressure on K-State QB Jesse Ertz and keep Ertz from rushing too effectively with the football, they should win straight up.

Week 10 College Football Upset Pick: Oklahoma State

Week 10 College Football Lock Picks

There are a handful of weeks left in the 2016 college football season and if you aren’t using my weekly college football lock picks its time you start. I have found a trio of Week 10 college football lock picks that you should bet on right now. Happy hunting!

Week 10 College Football Lock Picks

Will ranked Colorado put a beating on UCLA in a Pac 12 showdown? How will Vanderbilt play against hot Auburn on the road? Is North Carolina ready to destroy Georgia Tech as a big favorite at home?

UCLA at #20 Colorado
When:  Thursday, Nov. 3 at 9:00 pm ET
Where: Folsom Field, Boulder, CO
Odds: Colorado -11

Analysis: UCLA is a mess of a college football program. Bruin fans had high hopes going into the season. Many felt that QB Josh Rosen was going to be a Heisman Trophy candidate. Since I live in Los Angeles, I can’t begin to tell you the crazy things that UCLA fans were saying before the season. But after losing 4 out of their last 5, it’s apparent that Jim Mora Jr. has lost control of this team. UCLA has good players. The problem is that the team has no fire at all.

That’s why I think Colorado pummels the Bruins in Boulder this Thursday. To me, this is one of those no-brainer picks. Colorado is a college football squad that has covered in every single football game this season. The Buffalos can score. They put up 40 against ASU. Or, they can play defense. They beat Stanford 10 to 7 in their last.

An 8 and 0 ATS squad versus a team that has seemingly given up on the season?  I’ll take the undefeated ATS team every time.

Week 10 College Football Lock Pick: Colorado

Vanderbilt at #11 Auburn
When: Saturday, Nov. 5 at 12:00 pm ET
Where: Jordan-Hare Stadium, Auburn, AL
Odds: Auburn -24.5

Analysis: I thought Penn State was the hottest team in college football. I was wrong. The hottest team in college football are the 11th-ranked Auburn Tigers. Just when I thought that Auburn was done as a football program, that there was no way they’d get back to prominence, they do this.

The Tigers are 6 and 2 straight up. More importantly, to us football handicappers at least, Auburn is a stunning 7 and 1 ATS. The Tigers have covered in 5 straight games. They beat Ole Miss 40 to 29 on the road as a -4 favorite in their last.

Here’s what’s surprising:  Auburn allows 16 points per game on average. The Auburn Tigers are winning football games via their defense.

Vanderbilt’s in trouble on Saturday.

Week 10 College Football Lock Pick: Auburn

Georgia Tech at #18 North Carolina
When:  Saturday, Nov. 5 at 12:30 pm ET
Where: Kenan Stadium, Chapel Hill, NC
Odds: North Carolina -11

Analysis: Consistency is the hall mark of a good football program. It’s going to be hard to find a college football program less consistent than North Carolina. The Tar Heels aren’t good enough to make it to the College Football Playoff. But, they’re good enough to make it to the ACC Championship where they’ll have a shot to upset Clemson.

What I like about the Tar Heels is how the defense has locked down their last 2 opponents. Miami could only muster 13 points against North Carolina. Virginia could muster only 10 points.

Georgia Tech is riding a 2 game winning streak. But the Ramblin’ Wreck’s defense has given up 35 points or more in 3 out of Georgia Tech’s last 4 games. I just don’t see the Yellow Jackets getting closer than 14 points to NC in this.

Week 10 College Football Lock Pick: North Carolina

Week 10 College Football Parlay Picks

My Week 10 college football parlay picks concentrate on two huge games in the Big Ten and a major battle in the ACC. Can Florida State recover from their loss against Clemson to beat North Carolina State as a road favorite on Nov. 5? How will Penn State do at home versus rival Iowa? What happens when Top 10 ranked Nebraska travels to Columbus to battle Top 10 ranked Ohio State?

Week 10 College Football 2-Team Parlay Pick

  • Florida State -7.5
  • Penn State -5.5

#19 Florida State at North Carolina State
When:  Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: Carter-Findley Stadium, Raleigh, NC
Odds: North Carolina State +7.5

Analysis: Florida State had Clemson. The Seminoles almost played a perfect game this past Saturday in their 34 to 37 loss. FSU covered the spread by 1.5 points. But what the Seminoles wanted was the win.

It doesn’t get any easier for Florida State. They travel to Raleigh to take on the North Carolina State Wolfpack. NC State is on a 3 game losing streak. No loss was as bad as dropping a game 14 to 21 to Boston College as a -16 home favorite. The NC State defense was atrocious. It’s hard to see how the Wolfpack come back from such a devastating loss.

Florida State is playing with guts and determination. They may not be better than either Louisville or Clemson this season, but the team has gotten together. There’s no quit in the Seminoles. I believe that Jimbo Fisher has his fellas fired up for this game.

I think Florida State beats NC State by at least 10.

Week 10 College Football Parlay Pick: Florida State

Iowa at #20 Penn State
When: Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7:30 pm ET
Where: Beaver Stadium, University Park, PA
Odds: Penn State -5.5

Analysis: The hottest team in the Big Ten, maybe even the country, are the Penn State Nittany Lions. Once the light bulb went off in the second half of their stunning 24 to 21 win over Ohio State, I had the feeling that the Nittany Lions were going to turn their season around.

If the 62 to 24 whipping of Purdue is any indication, Penn State is ready to climb back into the upper echelon. Joe Pa who? That’s going to be the question around campus if Penn State can claw its way into a New Year’s Day Bowl Game. To do so, they must put a beating onto Iowa a team that, like everyone in the Big Ten, has lately had their number.

I don’t see the Nittany Lions looking back. This team is solid on both sides of the football. I think Penn State wins this game by at least 14.

Week 10 College Football Parlay Pick: Penn State -5.5

Week 10 College Football 3-Team Parlay Pick

  • Florida State -7.5
  • Penn State -5.5
  • Nebraska +13.5

#9 Nebraska at #6 Ohio State
When:  Saturday, Nov. 5 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: Ohio Stadium, Columbus, OH
Odds: Ohio State -13.5

Analysis: Ohio State is a decent football team. But the Buckeyes haven’t covered a spread since beating Rutgers 58 to 0. I told a friend of mine after the Indiana game, where Ohio State beat the Hoosiers 38 to 17 in their first non-cover, that Urban Meyer had been using smoke and mirrors.

Well, that won’t work against Nebraska just like it didn’t work against Penn State in a 21 to 24 loss and just like it didn’t work against Northwestern in a 24 to 20 win as a -25.5 home favorite. The Buckeyes have vulnerabilities. Indiana, Wisconsin, Penn State and Northwestern took advantages of those vulnerabilities.

If those 4 teams could take advantage of the vulnerabilities to cover against Ohio State, what do you think a coach like Mike Riley at Nebraska is going to do? The Buckeyes could lose their second game of the season on Nov. 5.

Week 10 College Football Parlay Pick: Nebraska +13.5
