Why Bet The Auburn Tigers To Beat The Sooners

The Tigers (8-4 SU, 9-3 ATS) should have plenty of motivation to get the season-ending win after losing two of their final three games, including their regular-season ending 30-12 loss to top-ranked Alabama on Nov. 26. Auburn did manage to cover the college football betting line as whopping 20.5-point underdog against the Crimson Tide to improve to 2-0 ATS over their last two games and 3-2 ATS over their last five.

The good news for Auburn coming into this contest is that starting quarterback Sean White and starting running back Kamryn Pettway will both be back on the field for their season-ender after the two combined to miss a handful of games down the stretch run because of injuries.

Pettway rushed for 1,123 yards and seven touchdowns this season while White completed an impressive 65.2 percent of his passes for 1,644 yards with nine touchdowns and three interceptions.

The Tigers averaged a healthy 32.3 points per game this season to rank 47th in scoring nationally while also ranking a stupendous fifth in points allowed by limiting the opposition to just 15.5 points per game.

Why Bet The Oklahoma Sooners To Beat The Tigers

Oklahoma (10-2 SU, 6-6 ATS) closed out the regular season on a red-hot roll, winning nine consecutive games coming into this contest including their convincing 38-20 win over Oklahoma State in the Big 12 title game on Dec. 3 to easily cover the college football betting line as a 12-point favorite.

The Sooners gave up an overly generous 29.6 points per game this season to rank an uninspiring 75th nationally in points allowed but used their high-powered offense to put up a whopping 44.6 points per game to rank third in scoring.

Heisman Trophy-contending quarterback Baker Mayfield passed for 3,669 yards and 38 touchdowns and has a trio of outstanding players at the skill positions in wide receiver Dede Westbrook (1,465 yards, 16 TDs) and running backs Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon (1,183 yards, 8 TDs).

Auburn Vs Oklahoma Sugar Bowl ATS Pick & Final Score Prediction

While a compelling 69 percent of the betting public likes Oklahoma to get it done in this affair, I’m still a bit surprised that the Sooners aren’t bigger favorites to beat a talent-laden, but mostly clueless Auburn team that clearly has problems to address this coming offseason.

I know Auburn has gone 7-2 ATS in its last nine games and that’s all fine and well, but Oklahoma is 4-1 ATS in its last five games and simply has an offense that is too good, even for Auburn’s stout defense, to keep in check for the vast majority of this contest.

Oklahoma has too much talent at the skill positions to be denied the win in this contest and has the huge edge at quarterback with Baker Mayfield being light years ahead of Auburn’s Sean White. The Sooners will get the convincing win to cap off their season with 10 straight victories.

My final score prediction is Oklahoma 31 Auburn 24

USC Vs Penn State Rose Bowl Line & Pick

USC Vs Penn State Rose Bowl Line & Pick

The incendiary fifth-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions and red-hot ninth-ranked USC Trojans will throw down in a matchup of two of the hottest teams in all of college football when they take to the gridiron for their 2016 Rose Bowl showdown.

Surprisingly, the Rose Bowl betting line favors Trojans by a TD beat the Nittany Lions.  Kick-off for this highly-anticipated matchup will take place on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017 at 5:00 PM ET, live from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California while airing on ESPN.

Why Bet The USC Trojans To Beat The Nittany Lions

The Trojans  (9-3 SU, 8-4 ATS) has won eight straight games and comes into this contest off a convincing 45-27 blowout over Notre Dame on Nov. 26 as a huge, 17.5-point favorite.

USC averages a solid 32.9 points per game this season to rank 42nd in scoring nationally while limiting the opposition to just 22.1 points per game defensively to rank an encouraging 24th nationally.

Starting quarterback Sam Darnold has completed 68.1 percent of his passes for 2,633 yards with 26 touchdowns and just eight interceptions while running back Ronald Jones has rushed for a team-high 1,027 yards and 11 scores. Wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster has caught 63 balls for 781 yards and nine TDs.

Why Bet The Penn State Nittany Lions To Beat The Trojans

The Nittany Lions (11-2 SU, 9-3-1 ATS) have won an impressive nine straight games and comes into the Rose Bowl off a thrilling 38-31 win over Wisconsin in the Big Ten championship game on December 3 while covering the college football betting line as a 2.5-point underdog.

This season, Penn State has put up a stellar 36.6 points per game to rank 25th nationally in scoring while ranking an equally impressive 35th nationally in points allowed (23.3 ppg).

Young quarterback Trace McSorley has completed just 57.5 percent of his passes this season, but he’s also thrown for 3,360 yards with 25 touchdowns and just five interceptions.

Gifted running back Saquon Barkley rushed for a stellar 1,302 yards and 16 touchdowns while wideout Chris Goodwin hauled in a team-high 50 passes for 795 yards and nine touchdowns.

Expert ATS Pick & Final Score Prediction

With 53 percent of the betting public liking Penn State to cover the spread, apparently it’s not just me, but no matter how hard I try, I just don’t understand how USC is, not only favored in this contest, but favored by a whopping touchdown over Penn State no less.

No matter, the Nittany Lions are offering a ton of value as I fully expect them to win outright to cover the Rose Bowl betting line. Quarterback Trace McSorley has as much moxie and poise as any quarterback in the country, not to mention a powerful arm and a sense of touch that you generally don’t see in young quarterbacks.

The Nittany Lions also have a powerful front seven that I expect to get after Sam Darnold and limit USC’s own explosive offense.

While USC has gone 6-0 ATS in their last six games, the Trojans are also just 1-4 ATS in their last five games against teams from the Big Ten and an uninspiring 0-4 ATS in their last four neutral site games.

Penn State has gone 8-0 ATS in their last eight games following a straight up (SU) win and 7-0 ATS in their last seven games following an ATS win.

The Nittany Lions are also 5-0-1 ATS in their last half-dozen games against a team with a winning record, making them the pick to win and cover as a strange, but value-packed 7-point underdog.

My final score prediction is Penn State 31 USC 27

Bet Western Michigan Vs Wisconsin Cotton Bowl

Bet Western Michigan Vs Wisconsin Cotton Bowl

The eighth-ranked Wisconsin Badgers will look to avoid the upset against the unbeaten 15th-ranked Western Michigan Broncos when the two teams throw down in the 2016 Goodyear Cotton Bowl.

The Badgers are solid 7.5-point Cotton Bowl spread betting favorites to win beat the Broncos in this intriguing affair. Kick-off takes place on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017 at 1:00 PM ET, live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas while airing on ESPN.

Why Bet The Western Michigan Broncos

Western Michigan (13-0 SU, 9-4 ATS) averages a stellar 43.5 points per game this season while simultaneously limiting their opponents to just 19.5 points per game defensively. The Broncos beat Ohio 29-23 in a hard-fought matchup to win their conference championship despite failing to cover the spread as 16.5-point favorites.

Quarterback Zack Terrell has a stellar season in completing a blistering 70.8 percent of his passes while throwing for 3,376 yards with 32 TD passes and just three interceptions.

Unheralded running back Jarvion Franklin had a banner season in rushing for 1,300 yards and 12 scores while wide receiver Corey Davis caught a team-high 91 passes for 1,427 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Why Bet The Wisconsin Badgers

Wisconsin (10-3 SU, 9-3-1 ATS) jumped all over Penn State early in their Big Ten championship matchup, but couldn’t hold off the determined Nittany Lions and ended up on the wrong side of a humbling 38-31 loss to their conference rivals while failing to cover the college football betting line as a 2.5-point favorite.

Backup quarterback Bart Houston has completed 65.1 percent of his passes for 1,086 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions after replacing injured starter Alex Hornibrook.

Running back Corey Clement rushed for a team-high 1,304 yards and 14 touchdowns while wideout Jazz Peavy and tight end Troy Fumagali combined for 74 catches for 1,132 yards and six scores.

Cotton Bowl Pick & Final Score Prediction

I’ve been a huge Wisconsin backer all season long, but right now, I like the motivation factor that Western Michigan has and I believe they’re going to stun a lot of folks by giving the Badgers all they can handle and then some.

Wisconsin has won six of their last seven games while going 11-3-1 ATS over their last 15 games, but Western Michigan has compiled a robust 11-4 ATS mark in its last 15 games and has an offense that is very difficult to keep in check, even for an elite defensive team like the Badgers.

60 percent of public bettors likes Wisconsin to win and cover, but I like the Broncos cover the college football ATS spread as a value-packed 7.5-point underdog in a thriller.
