Parlay Picks NFL Week 1

The NFL is back! Use my Week 1 parlay picks to get your season started off with a bang. I have a 2 and 3 team parlay pick. Happy hunting!

What’s going to go down when the Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles hook up in their Week 1 NFC East division matchup?

Will Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers get the road win and ATS cover in Frisco against the rebuilding 49ers?

Are the Cincinnati Bengals a lock to take care of business at home against their longtime AFC North division rivals when they host the Baltimore Ravens in their opener?

If you’re looking for answers to each of the aforementioned three questions, then I’ve got answers in the form of my expert Week 1 NFL parlay picks trio!

2-Team Parlay Pick NFL Preseason Week 1

  • Philadelphia/Washington Over
  • Carolina Panthers

Philadelphia at Washington
When: Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 1:00 PM ET
Where: FedEx Field, Landover, MD
TV: FOX
NFL Odds: Washington -1
Total: 47.5

Analysis: With two solid offenses going up against what I believe will be two mediocre defenses, you can expect both, Washington’s Kirk Cousins and Philadelphia’s Carson Wentz, to put plenty of points on the board in a matchup that looks like another divisional thriller just waiting to happen.

The Over is 3-0 in the last three meetings between these longtime foes and 5-1 in the last six meetings overall. The Over is also 7-3 in the last 10 meetings and both of these teams have scored at least 20 points on the other in nine of the last 10 meetings overall.

If you need more evidence that this is going to be a high-scoring affair, you should know that the Over is 11-1 in Philadelphia’s last 12 road games and 8-1 in their last 9 games against their NFC East division rivals. The Over is also 4-0 in Washington’s last 4 games in the month of September and 7-1 in their last 8 games against their NFC East foes.

Pick: Over

Carolina Panthers at San Francisco 49ers
When: Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 4:25 PM ET
Where: Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, California
TV: FOX
NFL Odds: Carolina -6
Total: 48

Analysis: I know the Carolina Panthers looked lost and confused last season after reaching the Super Bowl just the season before, but I like Carolina to bounce back from its injury-riddled campaign to beat the stuffing out of the rebuilding San Francisco 49ers and whoever they start under center in this regular season opener.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times the last few years. Christian McCaffrey is going to be a flat-out star and speedy former Ohio State wide receiver Curtis Samuel is going to surprise as well. San Francisco’s third-string backup C.J. Beathard, a third round pick out of Iowa, has completely outplayed both, veterans Brian Hoyer and second-stringer Matt Barkley this preseason. Carolina is 8-1 in their last nine road games against the Niners and a robust 13-3 ATS in the last 16 meetings overall, making them the easy pick to win and cash in!

Pick: Panthers

3-Team Parlay Pick NFL Preseason Week 3

  • Philadelphia/Washington Over
  • Carolina Panthers
  • Cincinnati Bengals

Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals
When: Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 1:00 PM ET
Where: Paul Brown Stadium, Cincinnati, Ohio
TV: CBS
NFL Odds: Cincinnati -2.5
Total: 43

Analysis: The Baltimore Ravens likely won’t have starting quarterback Joe Flacco on the field for their regular season opener against longtime AFC North division rival Cincinnati, but I don’t think it would have mattered much either way as the Bengals are the easy pick to get the win and ATS cover.

Both teams in this regular season opener have solid defenses, but Baltimore is seriously offensively-challenged while Cincinnati restocked its pedestrian offense from last season by adding fleet-footed wide receiver John Ross and talented running back Joe Mixon in the NFL draft.

Cincinnati is a near-perfect 3-0-1 ATS in their last four Week 1 games while also going 5-2 ATS in their last seven meetings against Baltimore and 4-1 ATS in their last five home dates against the Ravens.

Baltimore won’t have any problem covering the modest spread as 2.5-point home faves.

Pick: Bengals

Expert Picks NFL Week 1

NFL Week 1 betting odds have been out since the schedule was released. Now with the first game kicking off in a handful of days, it is time to start making your picks.

Can the Atlanta Falcons pick themselves up off the mat after their embarrassing Super Bowl 51 collapse?

Will the Miami Dolphins rue signing cry-baby quitter Jay Cutler before midseason and last but not least, how will the Dallas Cowboys adjust to life without Ezekiel Elliott?

As usual, if you’ve got questions, I’ve got answers.

2017 NFL Week 1 Expert Picks

Atlanta Falcons at Chicago Bears
When: Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 1:00 PM ET
Where: Soldier Field, Chicago, Illinois
TV: FOX
NFL Odds: Atlanta -7
Total: 51

Analysis: The Chicago Bears have looked pretty good in going 2-1 through three preseason games. Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons are 0-3 this scrimmage season. Still, I’m going to advise you to back the reigning NFC champion Falcons to win and cover the spread in their 2017 regular season opener, likely by simply outscoring their NFC conference rivals.

The Bears have an abundance of question marks they need to answer, starting at quarterback, where rookie No. 2 overall pick has looked much sharper than veteran Mike Glennon who they brought in to be their starter this season. While they’ve gone-half speed all preseason, you can expect to see Julio Jones and the rest of Atlanta’s explosive offensive stars going all out in Week 1 to beat an inferior Bears team that looks like they may have trouble scoring this coming season.

The Falcons are 8-1 ATS in their last nine road games while Chicago has gone 0-7 ATS in their last seven games in the month of September.

2017 NFL Week 1 Expert Pick: Atlanta Falcons -7 Points

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Miami Dolphins
When: Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 1:00 PM ET
Where: Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, Florida
TV: FOX
NFL Odds: Tampa Bay -2.5
Total: 45.5

Analysis: Tampa Bay won nine games in 2016 to nearly reach the playoffs while the Miami Dolphins won 10 to make the postseason party for the first time in a decade. Unfortunately, a lot has changed since last season ended. The Bucs made a series of smart offseason decisions that brought them speedy veteran wide receiver DeSean Jackson and rookie tight end O.J. Howard while Miami was busy signing washed-up former Bears starter Jay Cutler after losing Ryan Tannehill, like for the season, in training camp.

Now, my mindset is…anytime you’re forced to go out and sign Jay Cutler, you’re pretty much screwed. Tampa Bay is 5-1 ATS in their last six road games while Miami has gone 1-5 ATS in their last six games in the month of September.

2017 NFL Week 1 Expert Pick: Bucs

Giants at Cowboys
When: Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 8:30 PM ET
Where: AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas
TV: NBC
NFL Odds: Dallas -3.5
Total: 47.5

Analysis: The Dallas Cowboys had a terrific 2016 as rookies Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott both took the league by storm. Still, despite winning 13 games a year ago, the Cowboys have some issues heading into their 2017 regular season opener – particularly against a New York Giants team that beat them twice last season.

Dallas is 3-1 this preseason, but they still have shown themselves to be vulnerable against the pass so far this preseason and I believe Eli Manning and the pass-happy Giants are going to exploit Dallas’ weakness of not being able to stop the pass. New York added veteran wide receiver Brandon Marshall to go along with Odell Beckham Jr. and New York drafted a sure-handed tight end in Evan Engram.

With Ezekiel Elliott out of the lineup, I’m expecting the Cowboys to really struggle to find the balance they’ll need in order to deal with a New York defense that was really good last season. Dallas is a discouraging 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against their NFC East division rivals and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games overall. Conversely, the Giants are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games on FieldTurf.

Simply put, I like New York to make it three straight over the Cowboys!

2017 NFL Week 1 Expert Pick: New York 28 Dallas 24
