World Series Odds & Picks

World Series Odds & Picks

This past week, big changes occurred with the 2017 World Series odds. Cleveland and the L.A. Dodgers pretty much-flipped odds while Washington and the Chicago Cubs hover around 7 to 1 and 8 to 1.

Cleveland is now the favorite to take home the Fall Classic. Keep reading to find out why Cleveland is such a big favorite to win come October. Also, check out my smart pick and longshot picks to win the 2017 World Series.

World Series Odds & Picks

2017 Odds-On Favorite To Win The World Series:  Cleveland 9/4

Why are World Series handicappers all over Cleveland? The Tribe won 22 games in a row. It was a new AL record. What’s scary about Cleveland is that their bullpen has once again become the very best in Major League Baseball.

Soon to be 2017 AL Cy Young winner Corey Kluber appears to be getting stronger the later we get into the current MLB Season. Kluber’s not the only strong pitcher in Cleveland’s line-up. The Tribe has every reason to be the strong favorites to win the World Series.

Unfortunately, their 9/4 betting odds make them a serious underlay. I must pass.

The Smart Pick To Win The World Series:  L.A. Dodgers 5/2

The Dodgers had lost 16 out of 17 before winning 4 out of their last 5. At odds of 2.75 to 1, which is what LAD was going off at before this week, the Dodgers were a terrible bet. At 5/2, the Dodgers are a great bet.

What we can’t forget is that LAD was being hyped as the greatest baseball team of all time only 3 weeks ago. The losing streak doesn’t worry me. If anything, the Dodgers got it out of the way. What’s more important to realize is that the Dodgers 4 out of 5 wins as of Sep. 17 have arrived with their 4 best pitchers on the mound:  Clayton Kershaw, 5 to 3 over San Francisco, Yu Darvish, 4 to 1 over San Francisco, Alex Wood, 7 to 0 over Washington, and Rich Hill, 3 to 2 over Washington.

The Dodgers are set for a fantastic MLB postseason.

The Longshot Pick: Chicago Cubs 8/1

The Chicago Cubs offer excellent odds considering what they accomplished last week. The Cubbies swept the rival St. Louis Cardinals. To me, that was more important than anything they’ve probably done all season long.

Sweeping the Cardinals tells me that Chicago is peaking. We know what the Cubs can do when the rotation gets it together. Beating St. Louis 8 to 2, 4 to 1 and 4 to 3 means the rotation has gotten it together.

I think the Cubs are worth a long look to repeat.

Upset Picks College Football Week 4

Upset Picks College Football Week 4

College Football is better than the pros because every week there are stunning upsets. If you are looking for a few 5 ⭐ Week 4 college football upset picks then you are at the right place.

My three must bet Week 4 upset picks might be obvious, but you can still cash in. Can UCF upset Maryland against the spread as a road dog? How is Mississippi State going to fair after dominating LSU in Week 3 on the road versus Georgia? Can Cal keep it close versus USC at home?

Upset Picks College Football Week 4

UCF at Maryland
When:  Saturday, Sep. 23 at 3:00 pm ET
Where: Maryland Stadium, College Park, MD
TV: FS1
Odds: UCF +4

Analysis: Central Florida is 1 and 0. Like Miami and Florida State, the Knights had to wait out Hurricane Irma before playing football. What it means is that UCF goes to Maryland having not played football competitively since August 31 when they thumped Florida International 61 to 17.

Maryland upset Texas 51 to 41 before beating Towson 63 to 17. Although 2 and 0, the Terrapins could find it tough to beat UCF on Saturday. The Terrapins’ offense is based on rushing the football.

UCF’s defense only allowed 134 rushing yards per game in the win over Florida International. I see this turning into a shootout with the Knights’ more balanced offense beating the Terps straight up. Take the points if you’re worried.

Pick: UCF money line

#17 Mississippi State at #11 Georgia
When:  Saturday, Sep. 23 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: Sanford Stadium, Athens, GA
TV: ESPN
Odds: Mississippi State +4.5

Analysis: I’m not sold on Georgia. The Bulldogs did beat Notre Dame 20 to 19 as a +5.5-dog at Notre Dame. But, Georgia QB Jake Fromm didn’t play well against the Golden Domers. Fromm didn’t play all that well against Samford in Georgia’s last game.

Mississippi State easily presents the Bulldogs’ toughest challenge yet. The other Bulldogs go into this battle after trouncing then 12 LSU 37 to 7 as a 7.5 home dog. Mississippi State is 3 and 0 straight up and 3 and 0 ATS.

Miss State’s defense allows an average of 9.3 points per game. Georgia doesn’t have much of a shot against the other Bulldogs on Sep. 23.

Pick: Mississippi State money line

#5 USC at California
When:  Saturday, Sept. 23 at 3:30 pm ET
Where: Memorial Stadium, Berkley, CA
TV: ABC
Odds: California +16

Analysis: USC got lucky when beating Texas 27 to 24 in 2 overtimes in Week 3. The Trojans should have lost that game. USC might lose this Saturday against one of the teams expected to be the worst in the Pac 12, the California Golden Bears.

The Bears are undefeated both straight up and against the spread. As a +7-home dog, Cal wasn’t supposed to do much against the Ole Miss Rebels in Week 3. Man, Cal came up huge!

The Golden Bears scored 33 points against an SEC defense. Not only that, but Cal held the Rebels to only 16 points. It was a stepping stone win.

USC is a good football team. Unfortunately, the Trojans’ defense over pursues. That could lead to Cal TDs on Saturday. I think the Bears come up big. They’ll make it a nail biter. They’ve got a shot to upset USC straight up.

Pick: California +16

Expert Picks College Football Week 4

Expert Picks College Football Week 4

After 3 weeks in the 2017-2018 College Football Season, it’s apparent that the very best teams aren’t necessarily the ones that we thought would be the best going into the season.

My three College Football Week 4 picks have something in common. They are all ranked in the Top 10, but they didn’t start there. To quote Drake "Started from the bottom now we’re here. Started from the bottom now my whole team f*cking here." All of my college week 4 betting picks climbed into the Top 10.

The first game I like has Oklahoma State battling TCU. Can the Cowboys keep the good time going with a home win and cover against TCU? How is Penn State going to fare as a road favorite against tough Big Ten rival Iowa? Which team gets it done when Washington battles Colorado in Colorado?

Expert Picks College Football Week 4

#16 TCU at #6 Oklahoma State
When:  Saturday, Sep. 23 at 3:30 pm ET
Where: Boone Pickens Stadium, Stillwater, OK
TV: ESPN
Odds: Oklahoma State -12

Analysis: Wow, Oklahoma State’s good! As a -10.5 favorite on the road against Pittsburgh, Oklahoma State jumped out to a huge lead. The Cowboys never looked back. How badly did Oklahoma State beat Pittsburgh in Week 3? 59 to 21.

It could have been worse. The Cowboys pulled QB Mason Rudolph after he threw for 497 yards and 5 TDs. Rudolph should make some NFL fan base super happy come next April.

Oklahoma State figures to be too much for TCU. I don’t see the Horned Frogs keeping this one close. The Cowboys’ defense is much better this season than it was last season.

OKST blows out another gridiron foe as my top college football Week 4 expert pick.

Expert Pick Week 4: Oklahoma State -12

#4 Penn State at Iowa
When:  Saturday, Sep. 23 at 7:30 pm ET
Where: Kinnick Stadium, Iowa City, IA
TV: ABC
Odds: Penn State -13

Analysis: Sure, Penn State hasn’t faced a team as tough as Iowa yet this season. The Nittany Lions get better each week, though. The 56 to 0 win over Georgia State won’t turn a lot of heads. Then again, top in the nation RB Saquon Barkley touched the football only 14 times.

That’s how good of an offense Penn State’s got. The defense isn’t too shabby, either. I like the Lions to roll over the Hawkeyes in this match up. Iowa couldn’t cover a 3.5 spread against Iowa State. The Hawkeyes failed to cover a -19.5 spread against North Texas.

Penn State dominated Iowa 41 to 14 last season. The Nittany Lions are better this season than they were last season. PSU should have no trouble beating Iowa by close to 3 touchdowns.

Expert Pick Week 4: Penn State -13

#7 Washington at Colorado
When:  Saturday, Sept. 23 at 10:00 pm ET
Where: Folsom Field, Boulder, CO
TV: TBD
Odds: Washington -10

Analysis: After USC barely beat Texas at home in Week 3, it’s obvious to me that the best team in the Pac 12 is Washington. The Huskies aren’t a covering machine. In fact, Washington is 1 and 2 ATS this season.
But, Washington has faced the following spreads:  -28 versus Rutgers, -39 versus Montana, and -34.5 versus Fresno State. The Huskies are going to love only having to deal with a 10-point spread in this game.

Washington thumped Colorado 41 to 10 last season. A similar score this season sounds about right.

Expert Pick Week 4: Washington -10
