FSU vs Michigan Elite Eight Line & Pick

NCAA Basketball Expert Picks Jan 1-7

With the start of the new year here, conference play getting in full swing and the start of March Madness now just three months away, it’s time for another week of college basketball expert picks. Four nationally-ranked title hopefuls and a pair of 10-win ballclubs highlight this week’s trio of expert college hoops picks.

NCAA Basketball Expert Picks Jan 1-7

No. 10 TCU (12-1) at No. 18 Baylor (10-3)
When: Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 7:00 PM ET
Where: Ferrell Center, Waco, Texas
TV: ESPNEWS

Analysis: TCU lost a heartbreaker against the incredible Trae Young and No. 12 Oklahoma on Saturday while No. 18 Baylor got smacked around badly by Texas Tech in their 77-53 road loss on Friday night.

For this Tuesday night affair, I’m going to urge you to back the more offensively-explosive Horned frogs to get the road win although this will actually be their first road games of the season after playing nine at home and three neutral site matchups. TCU got beat by a single point arguably the best player in the country as Young went off against them while Baylor never showed up against No. 23 Texas Tech. While the Bears are back at home, I can’t get their 13-point road loss to Xavier and ensuing seven-point home loss to Creighton out of my mind. TCU isn’t the best defensive team around, but boy, they sure can score (87.6 ppg).

Pick: TCU 81 Baylor 75

Oklahoma State (10-3) at No. 12 Oklahoma (11-1)
When: Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 9:00 PM ET
Where: Lloyd Noble Center, Norman, OK
TV: ESPNU

Analysis: Many basketball experts are calling Oklahoma point guard the best freshman guard ever (that’s debatable) but to even say that, says a lot about just how good Young has been this season.
Young went off for 39 points and 14 assists to lead the Sooners to a 90-89 win over previously unbeaten TCU on Saturday. He’s scored at least 30 points in five of Oklahoma’s 12 games this season while scoring 43 against Oregon and dishing out 22 assists against Northwestern.

Oklahoma State had their modest three-game winning streak snapped in Friday’s 85-79 home loss against West Virginia and the Cowboys will be the latest team to get exploited by Young, who has quickly catapulted himself into the conversation for the top pick in next year’s NBA Draft with his mind-boggling exploits.

Pick: Oklahoma 95 Oklahoma State 82

Marquette (10-4) at No. 1 Villanova (13-1)
When: Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 8:00 PM ET
Where: Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, PA
TV: FS1

Analysis: Marquette bounced back from their loss against Xavier to beat Georgetown 74-65 on Saturday, but the Golden Eagles will be taking on a Villanova team that will be seriously focused after losing their first game of the season against Butler 101-93 on Saturday. Just know this. While the Wildcats have lost five games the past two seasons and three of them came against Butler, Villanova has rebounded from those defeats against Butler with a double-digit win in their next game every time. The Wildcats have scored at least 93 points in each of their last three games and possess too much talent and offensive firepower for Marquette to keep up with in this Big East battle.

Pick: Villanova 91 Marquette 77

Bama Vs UGA 2018 College Football Championship Odds & Pick

The fourth-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide will look to tame the third-ranked Georgia Bulldogs and cash in as favorites when the two longtime SEC rivals square off in the 2018 national championship on Monday, January 8, live from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

The Las Vegas college football oddsmakers have Alabama as 4-point betting favorites over Georiga to win the 2018 college football national title. The over/under is 47.5.

Bet Alabama To Win The 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship Because…

Alabama completely shut down top-ranked Clemson in their overpowering 24-6 win in the Sugar Bowl semifinal on Monday night. The Tide got two TD passes from quarterback Jalen Hurts in the win but really, it was their overpowering defense that led them to victory. Alabama harassed Clemson quarterback Kelly Bryant into two costly interceptions and held the Tigers to just 64 rushing yards and 188 total yards of offense in the dominating win.

Bet Georgia To Win The 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship Because…

No. 3 Georgia advanced to the national championship game since 1983 by getting past No. 2 Oklahoma 54-48 in double overtime in the Rose Bowl. After trailing 31-17 at the half, Georgia turned it on in the second half by outscoring the Sooners 28-14 and 9-3 in two overtimes to get the win. Running back Sonny Michel rushed for a stellar 181 yards and three touchdowns on just 11 carries in the win while fellow back Nick Chubb added 145 rushing yards and two scores on 14 carries. While Oklahoma running back Rodney Anderson had a phenomenal game by rushing for a game-high 201 yards and two touchdowns, Georgia limited Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Baker Mayfield to two TD passes and one interception.

2018 College Football Playoff National Championship Pick

The 2018 national championship game will mark the second time in seven seasons that two teams from the SEC will battle in the national championship. For the Bulldogs, it is their first chance to win a national championship since they lost to Pen State in their 1983 title game. Georgia’s last championship came back in 1980.

The Crimson Tide will be playing in their third straight title game and sixth in nine seasons. Alabama has gone 4-1 in its five most recent championship games and beat LSU 21-0 in that prior all-SEC meeting to win the title back in 2011.

For this contest, I’m going to urge you to back Alabama to beat Georgia and cover the chalk, mostly because I don’t see a Georgia offense that relies heavily on its rushing attack, to be able to have much success on the ground against an Alabama defense that won’t be nearly as generous as Oklahoma’s porous defense was in their semifinal matchup.

While Georgia will also likely limit Alabama from running wild, the Tide have the big edge at quarterback where Jalen Hurts is far more dangerous and experienced than Georgia’s Jake Fromm. If Alabama shut down a very good Clemson team in their semifinal matchup, I believe that Georgia is in for more of the same!

Pick: Alabama -4

NFL Divisional Round 5 Star Lock Picks

Bills Vs Jaguars Line & Free Pick

While Tyrod Taylor and the Buffalo Bills ‘handled their business’ by beating Miami in their regular season finale, they were plain old lucky that the Baltimore Ravens choked in their own finale by losing to the visiting Cincinnati Bengals. Now they face the surprise team of the season, the 10 win Jaguars.

The Las Vegas NFL oddsmakers have installed the Jaguars as 8-point favorites over the Bills to win this playoff wild card tilt. The over/under is 41.5-points.

Buffalo Bills Vs Jacksonville Jaguars Line & Free Pick

Buffalo Bills (9-7) at Jacksonville Jaguars (10-6)
When: Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 1:05 PM ET
Where: EverBank Field, Jacksonville, FL
TV: CBS
Stream: CBS Sports
NFL Odds: Jaguars -8
Total: 41.5

Why Bet The Bills

The Bills bounced back from their Week 16 beatdown against the Patriots to get past the lowly Dolphins 22-16 this past weekend to give themselves a chance to get into the playoffs, When Baltimore got upset by Cincinnati 31-27 later on, the Bills snapped the league’s longest active losing streak at 17 years.

Buffalo has won three of their last four games and four of six, although two of their wins came against the pitiful Dolphins and another against the injury-ravaged Colts. Buffalo ranked a modest 22nd in scoring this season (18.9 ppg) while finishing 18th in points allowed (22.4 ppg).

Why Bet The Jaguars

Jacksonville lost their final two regular-season games by falling to the 49ers 44-33 in Week 16 and losing to Tennessee 15-10 in their regular season finale this past weekend.

Now though, I’m thinking the Jags are going to be very focused, seeing as how they ranked a stellar fifth in scoring (26.1 ppg) and stupendous second in points allowed (16.8 ppg). Prior to their last two games, Jacksonville had won three straight and six of their previous seven games.

Buffalo Bills Vs Jacksonville Jaguars Wild Card Free Pick

The Jags went 6-2 at home this season and I just don’t seem them taking the Bills lightly in this one. Buffalo hasn’t scored more than 24 points in each of their last nine games while getting held to 16 points or less in five of those games.

I’m fully expecting Jacksonville’s elite defense to give the Bills modest offense a really hard way to go in this contest while they simultaneously get just enough offense from Blake Bortles and company to make a narrow win stand up.

The Bills are 3-1 ATS in their last four games and 4-2 ATS in their last six games overall. The Jags are 0-2 ATS in their last two games and just 3-3 ATS over their last six games overall. Despite their recent ATS trends, I like the Jags to win and cover the chalk!

Pick: Jacksonville -8
