NBA Expert Picks March 5-11

NBA Expert Picks March 5-11

With the 2017-18 NBA regular season steamrolling to a fast and furious finish in both conferences, now is a perfect time for some more expert NBA picks of the week. Six sure-fire playoff participants will take to the court this coming week in three separate matchups that all have the look of intriguing affairs just waiting to happen!

NBA Expert Picks March 5th-11th

Houston (49-13) at Oklahoma City (37-28)
When: Tuesday, March 6, 2018 7:00 PM
Where: Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, OK

James Harden and the Houston Rockets have won 15 straight games heading into this contest including their thrilling 123-120 win over Boston in Saturday’s nationally-televised matchup of top title favorites. Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder had their three-game winning streak halted in their 108-100 road loss to Portland on Saturday to fall to 3-2 over their last five games.

The Thunder might be playing at home in this contest, but they certainly aren’t the pick to snap Houston’s winning ways. Oklahoma City is just 7-8 over their last 15 games while suffering losses to mediocre teams like the Lakers (twice), Pelicans and Nuggets along the way.

Oklahoma City has yet to figure out how to play together while Houston looks like a more than legitimate threat to dethrone the Golden State Warriors as champions. Houston has a better road record (24-7) than Oklahoma City does at home (21-10) and will get the solid victory in this Tuesday night affair despite being away from the comfy confines of home!

Pick: Houston 117 Oklahoma City 108

Boston (44-20) at Minnesota (38-28)
When: Thursday, March 8, 2018 7:00 PM
Where: Target Center, Minneapolis, MN

Boston saw its four-game winning streak come to a halt in their 123-120 road loss against Houston in their nationally-televised matchup on Saturday. Minnesota had lost two in a row heading into the new week, including their 116-108 defeat at Utah on Friday. The C’s may have suffered a crushing loss on Saturday, but Boston is the easy pick to get the road win against Minnesota in this contest for several reasons.

First, the C’s are the far better defensive team in this matchup and they’ll have the best player on the floor in point guard Kyrie Irving. Boston also plays a far more cohesive brand of basketball than the T-Wolves who don’t get a whole lot from their bench. With Jimmy Butler out of the lineup after undergoing meniscus surgery last week, this one is a virtual lock. Boston wins by at least a half-dozen points.

Pick: Boston 112 Minnesota 105

San Antonio (36-27) at Golden State (49-14)
When: Thursday, March 8, 2018 7:30 PM
Where: Oracle Arena, Oakland, CA

The Spurs have lost two in a row heading into the new week including their 116-112 loss to the Lakers on Saturday night. San Antonio has lost four straight at home for the first time since 2002. While the Spurs are struggling, Golden State is finding its stride right about now as they ride a five-game winning streak into the new week that includes a 114-109 road win over Atlanta on Friday night despite the fact that Draymond Green sat out and Steph Curry had to overcome an ankle tweak in the contest.

The Dubs have won eight of their last nine and are extremely focused on playing their best basketball of the season prior to the playoffs as they await what looks like a stiff challenge from Houston in the Western Conference. Golden State will win at home against a Spurs team that is banged-up and not nearly as good we’ve come to expect out of the perennial title contenders.

Pick: Golden State 112 San Antonio 98

NHL Expert Picks March 5-11

NHL Expert Picks March 5-11

With just one month remaining in the 2017-18 NHL regular season, teams in both conferences are going all-out to improve their play prior to the start of the Stanley Cup playoffs, it’s time for a trio of expert NHL picks that could help you cash in early and often over the course of the coming week.

Three legitimate Cup favorites, a pair of playoff hopefuls and one team that has not shot to reach the postseason are all in action this coming week. Now, let’s find out where some NHL betting value lies in all of their respective matchups!

NHL Expert Picks March 5th-11th

Pittsburgh Penguins (37-25-4) at Philadelphia Flyers (34-20-11)
When: Wednesday, March 7, 2018 8:00 PM
Where: Wells Fargo Center-PA, Philadelphia, PA

The two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Penguins have been red-hot for the better part of the last eight weeks and they’ve gone 7-3 over their last 10 games while heading into the new week coming off a hard-fought 3-2 win over the Islanders on Saturday.

The Stanley Cup hopeful Flyers have also been one of the best teams in hockey for the last couple of months and have gone 7-2-1 over their last 10 including their high-scoring 7-6 shootout win over Tampa Bay on Saturday. With the way Philly scored seven goals in their last contest and the way Pittsburgh gave up 8 goals in a loss against Buffalo last Thursday, I’m going to urge you to back the streaking Flyers to get the statement-making home win in this mid-week matchup.

Pick: Philadelphia 5 Pittsburgh 4

St. Louis Blues (35-26-5) at San Jose Sharks (35-21-9)
When: Thursday, March 8, 2018 7:30 PM
Where: SAP Center, San Jose, CA

Both of these Western Conference playoff hopefuls have an identical 35 wins, but right now, the San Jose Sharks are playing much better hockey, making them the pick to get the win at home in this mid-week matchup. St. Louis has gone an awful 2-6-2 over their last 10 and hit the new week coming off a crushing 3-2 overtime loss against Dallas on Saturday night while San Jose has picked up the pace to go 6-3-1 heading into their Sunday night home date against Columbus. The Sharks are the more explosive team offensively, they’re playing at home and they’ve got plenty of motivation as they are currently in a three-way tie for fourth place in the Western Conference playoff race, but just a few points ahead of four other playoff hopeful teams.

Pick: San Jose 4 St. Louis 2

Vegas Golden Knights (41-18-5) at Buffalo Sabres (20-34-11)
When: Saturday, March 10, 2018 1:00 PM
Where: KeyBank Center, Buffalo, NY

Vegas had lost three straight entering the current week, including a 5-4 loss at home against Ottawa on Friday night, but Buffalo had their modest two-game winning streak snapped in Friday’s 4-1 beatdown at the hands of Florida, also on Friday night. While the Golden Knights have struggled in going 6–4 over their last 10, they’re still the easy pick to get the road win in this matchup against a Buffalo team that has gone 3-5 over their last eight and has no shot to reach the playoffs. Vegas and their second-ranked offense (3.4 gpg) will be simply too much for Buffalo and their 31st-ranked offense (2.4 gpg) to keep up with in this contest!

Pick: Vegas 5 Buffalo 2
