Why bet on Washington to beat Oregon

The Washington Huskies are winners of five straight after losing their season opener to Auburn. Washington has been winning by out-gaining and out-rushing each of its last five opponents.

Washington owns the Pac-12’s No. 1 scoring defense and is allowing 13.7 points per game. The Huskies haven’t allowed more than 35-points in 50 straight games.

Why bet on Oregon to beat Washington

The Oregon Ducks haven’t quite returned to their glory years under Chip Kelly, but they are almost there. Oregon leads the Pac-12 conference in scoring at 45.6 points per game, rushing yards at 216.0 yards per and total offense at 503.6 yards per. Ducks quarterback Justin Herbert leads the conference in efficiency rating at 180.9. The Ducks are just hitting mid-season form.

Washington Vs. Oregon Betting Predictions

Oregon Ducks haven’t provided bettors with ATS value by going 1-3 against the spread in FBS play thus far. Combine that with an earlier than usual west-coast kick-off and I am betting the Washington U and the Under!

Upset Moneyline Picks NFL Week 6

Indianapolis Colts +120 at New York Jets -140
When: Sunday, Oct. 14 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ
TV: CBS

Analysis: Sure, the New York Jets head into Week 6 after having beaten the Denver Broncos 34-16. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, though. The Jets used a 21 points second quarter to take down the Broncos.

The Colts defense should play much better against rookie quarterback Sam Darnold than it did versus Deshaun Watson in Week 4 and Tom Brady in Week 5. Indianapolis played the Patriots tough even though they lost by 2 touchdowns in Week 5. Since that game was on a Thursday, the Colts also got some extra rest.

Indianapolis wins straight up.

Pick: Indianapolis +120

Pittsburgh Steelers +113 at Cincinnati Bengals -133
When: Sunday, Oct. 14 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: Paul Brown Stadium, Cincinnati
TV: CBS

Analysis: Jump on the Pittsburgh Steelers moneyline as soon as it comes out if you agree with my assessment that the Steelers turned the corner in the 41-17 Week 5 beat down they put onto the Atlanta Falcons.

Cincinnati’s a good football team, but Pittsburgh finally put together a complete team. The Steelers should make it two impressive wins in a row.

Pick: Pittsburgh +113

Los Angeles Rams -290 at Denver Broncos +245
When: Sunday, Oct. 14 at 4:05 pm ET
Where: Mile High Stadium, Denver, CO
TV: FOX

Analysis: Most everyone talked up the L.A. Rams defense before the season started, and for good reason. The Rams re-signed Aaron Donald. They signed Ndamukong Suh to play next to Donald. They also traded for the top cornerback tandem in the NFL, former Denver Bronco Aqib Talib and former KC Chief Marcus Peters.

In the past couple of weeks, though, the Rams’ haven’t stopped Minnesota from scoring 31 and Seattle from scoring 31. Talib is on IR while Peters is banged up.

Denver’s defense has had its ups and down this season. I’m willing to roll the dice that it has an up Week 6. I’m going for the Broncos on the moneyline.

Pick: Denver +245

Over/Under Picks NFL Week 6

Arizona Cardinals at Minnesota Vikings
When: Sunday, Oct. 14 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN
TV: FOX
Total Odds: 43

Analysis: Minnesota’s defense got back on track in Week 5. The Vikings held Philadelphia to only 20 points in a strong 23-20 win. Minnesota now faces the Arizona Cardinals at home on Sunday in a game that, surprisingly, should go either way.

Most importantly? The Cardinals’ defense has come to life big time. Arizona hasn’t allowed an opponent to score more than 20 against it in 3 straight games. Zona should keep Vikings’ quarterback Kirk Cousins from taking over.

This one has under written all over it.

Pick: Under

Chicago Bears at Miami Dolphins
When: Sunday, Oct. 14 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, FL
TV: CBS
Total Odds: 44.5

Analysis: The Bears head to Miami off a bye week. Chicago historically doesn’t play well off a bye, but this Bears’ team is much different than in year’s past. In Week 4, the Bears scored 48 points in a 48-10 victory over Tampa Bay.

Miami’s offense has hit rock bottom, though. Can the Dolphins score at least 17 points against Chicago’s defense? They should at home, which means this game goes over because the Bears are good for 28 to 30.

Pick: Over

Kansas City Chiefs at New England Patriots
When: Sunday, Oct. 14 at 8:20 pm ET
Where: Gillette Stadium, Foxboro, MA
TV: NBC
Total Odds: 58.5

Analysis: On paper, Chiefs versus Patriots should easily eclipse the 58.5 points. That’s the approach most NFL handicappers will take because KC averages 35 points per game while New England has scored 38 points in each of its last couple of games.

But, both defenses in this game have stepped it up in recent weeks. The Patriots have gone back to their classic bend but don’t break. It worked to perfection in the 38-7 win over the Dolphins. It didn’t work as well in the 38-24 win over the Colts.

Kansas City’s defense shut down the Jaguars in Week 5. If both defenses play tough, these two should have trouble reaching 58.5. There’s also the chance that both offenses play more conservatively to keep the ball out of the opposing team’s quarterback’s hands.

I’m going under.

Pick: Under
