Must Watch NHL Games Feb 4 – 10

The 2019 NHL season is starting to heat up and there are a trio of must watch and bet NHL games. Let’s get started.

Must Watch NHL Games Feb 4 – 10

Columbus Blue Jackets at Vegas Golden Knights
When: Saturday, Feb. 9 at 10:00 pm ET
Where: T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, NV

Analysis: Columbus is one of those NHL teams that plays equally well on their own ice and on away ice. The Blue Jackets have an excellent 14-9-1-0 away record as of Feb. 3. They begin a 3-match road trip on Feb. 5 versus the Colorado Avalanche. After the Avalanche, Columbus takes on Arizona, which means by the time they land in Vegas, they will have already played 2 road matches this week.

Vegas had been one of the hottest teams in NHL heading into the all-star break. Since the all-star break, they’ve been ice cold, dropping 4 in a row. They were favored in 3-of-4.

Columbus hasn’t been much better, though. Like Vegas, they too have been terrible since the all-star break. The Blue Jackets ride a 5-game losing streak into the week, but they’ll be dogs in this. It makes sense to back the team offering better odds when both are struggling.

Pick: Columbus Blue Jackets

St. Louis Blues at Nashville Predators
When: Sunday, Feb. 10 at 12:30 pm ET
Where: Bridgestone Arena, Nashville, TN

Analysis: Heading into the week, Nashville’s been on fire going 3-1 SU. The Predators only have a 16-10-0-0 home record. They actually have a better road record than they do a home record. It might be to St. Louis’ advantage that they battle the Predators on the road on Sunday.

The Blues have a decent 11-9-3-0 road record. They’ve finally gotten above .500 and could be on the cusp of making a run in the Central Division. The last time St. Louis faced Nashville, they demolished them 6-2. St. Louis just matches up well with the Predators. They’re the pick.

Pick: St. Louis Blues

Toronto Maple Leafs at New York Rangers
When: Sunday, Feb. 10 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: Madison Square Garden, New York, NY

Analysis: Heading into their Feb. 4 match against Anaheim, the Maple Leafs have been awful. They’re 2-4 in their last 6 and 4-6 in their last 10.

The Leafs have lost against some bad teams like Arizona and Detroit. Toronto has a 16-6-2-0 away record, though. They also dominated the Rangers 5-3 the last time they faced them.

But, the Rangers have played well. They’ve got a big shot to upset the Maple Leafs as a home dog on Sunday.

Pick: New York Rangers

Must Bet College Basketball Games Feb. 4 - 10

Must Bet College Basketball Games Feb 4 – 10

With the football season behind us, it is time to focus on college basketball. Keep reading for my betting analysis on a trio of must bet college basketball games for the week of February 4th to the 10th.

Must Bet College Basketball Games Feb. 4 – 10

#24 Wisconsin at #5 Michigan
When: Saturday, Feb. 9 at 12:00 pm ET
Where: Crisler Center, Ann Arbor, MI

Analysis: The Wisconsin Badgers have really turned it on since embarrassing losses to Western Kentucky and Minnesota back in late December and early January. Since the losses, the Badgers have gone 6-2 SU. They’ve also gone 6-2 ATS in those 8 games.

What’s really encouraging if you’re a Wisconsin fan is how the Badgers have gone 5-0 SU and ATS in their last 5. One of the victories SU and ATS was against Michigan, 64-54 as a 3.5 home dog on Jan. 19.

Since losing to the Badgers, the Michigan Wolverines are only 4-1 SU and 2-2 ATS. Michigan gets overplayed in this, making Wisconsin the easy team to back ATS.

Pick: Wisconsin

#14 Villanova at #10 Marquette
When: Saturday, Feb. 9 at 2:30 pm ET
Where: Fiserv Forum, Milwaukee, WI

Analysis: Villanova hasn’t lost a game since Kansas beat them 74-71 way back on December 15. That’s an incredible 10 wins in a row straight up. What makes it incredible? Nova plays in the deep Big East.

The Villanova Wildcats have also been great against the spread lately, going 8-2 ATS in their last 10 and 6-0 ATS in their last 6. They face a squad in Marquette that’s 11-3 ATS at home, though. Marquette’s also won 8 in a row and 9-of-10.

Nova’s the defending champions, meaning Marquette will be an overlay in this. The Golden Eagles should win by enough points to cover as a -1 to -2 favorite.

Pick: Marquette

#2 Duke at #3 Virginia
When: Saturday, Feb. 9 at 6:00 pm ET
Where: John Paul Jones Arena, Charlotte, NC

Analysis: Duke barely beat rival Virginia in the last game between these two, 72-70. What you must worry about if you’re a Duke fan is that Virginia battled Duke to the final possession at Cameron Indoor Stadium where the Duke Crazies were in full force.

On Saturday, Duke must go against Virginia on the road. UVA will be favored by around 3 to 4 points. After losing to Duke, the Cavaliers got right back to their winning ways, but they haven’t covered in their last 2.

Still, UVA is 8-3 ATS at home this season. They only allow 52.9 points per, and after seeing Duke once, coach Tony Bennett will make an adjustment to get the win and cover over the Blue Devils.

Pick: Virginia Cavaliers

Top NBA Games Feb 4 - 10

Top NBA Games Feb 4 – 10

I have a trio of NBA must watch and must bet games to cure your Super Bowl hangover. Let’s get started.

Top NBA Games Feb 4 – 10

Denver Nuggets at Philadelphia 76ers
When: Friday, Feb. 8 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, PA

Analysis: The Nuggets have only lost 15 games heading into the week and lead Oklahoma City by 4 games in the Northwest Division. Most everyone expects the Denver Nuggets to fail. But, it hasn’t yet happened.

In fact, Denver’s been on an awesome straight up streak. The Nuggets have won 6 in a row. They’ve gone 4-2 ATS in those 6 games and although are 10-15 ATS in away games, will be dogs on Friday against the 76ers.

Philadelphia is only 14-12 ATS in home games this season. They’re the much more popular team with name players Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid and Jimmy Butler. There’s a chance handicappers overplay the 76ers in this contest.

Taking the points on the Nuggets.

Pick: Denver Nuggets

Oklahoma City Thunder at Houston Rockets
When: Saturday, Feb. 9 at 8:30 pm ET
Where: Toyota Center, Houston, TX

Analysis: As of Feb. 3, the Rockets are only 2 games behind the rival San Antonio Spurs in the Southwest Division. Houston’s behind the Spurs because San Antonio has played 2 more games than the Rockets have.

Houston’s 15-11-1 ATS at home. The last time they faced Oklahoma City, they beat Russell Westbrook and his crew 113-109 as a 1-point dog. The Rockets won’t be the dogs on Saturday night.

Oklahoma City, like Houston, has played great basketball lately. The Thunder are 7-3 SU and 6-4 ATS in their last 10. If you only count their last 8, they’ve gone 7-1 SU and 6-2 ATS.

This should be a terrific battle, but the Thunder can hang with The Beard. Outside of The Beard, Houston doesn’t have scorers that can hang with Russell and Paul George. Oklahoma City should cover.

Pick: Oklahoma City Thunder

L.A. Lakers at Philadelphia 76ers
When: Sunday, Feb. 10 at 3:30 pm ET
Where: Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, PA

Analysis: LeBron finally played on Jan. 31 in the Lakers 123-120 overtime victory against the cross-town rival L.A. Clippers. Then, on Feb. 2, the Lakers rested him. They’re handling the best player in the NBA with kid gloves.

Even if LeBron plays 40 minutes on Sunday, the Lakers will find it difficult to beat the 76ers. Los Angeles appears out of sorts. They are 13-12 ATS in away games, but the organization is distracted after offering most of the team for Anthony Davis only to have New Orleans spurn them.

Los Angeles appears to be as dysfunctional as they’ve been for the past 5 seasons. They won’t do enough to keep it close versus a talented 76ers squad to cover.

Pick: Philadelphia 76ers
