Top College Basketball Games March 11-17

With a handful of days left until Selection Sunday, I have picked a trio of college basketball games you need to keep your eye on for the week of March 11th to the 17th.

Top College Basketball Games March 11-17

Clemson Tigers vs NC State Wolfpack
When: Wednesday, March 13 at 12:00 pm ET
Where: Spectrum Center, Charlotte, NC

Analysis: College hoops conference tournament start this week and no game on Wednesday might be as important as Clemson taking on NC State. One of the two should grab a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Whoever wins on Wednesday, could be the team that takes a step towards the Big Dance bid.

The Wolfpack heads into this match having gone 6-2 ATS in their last 8. Although that’s a great record against the spread, NC State is 5-3 on the moneyline in their last 8. One of the losses was downright pathetic, 61-63 at home to terrible ACC rival Georgia Tech.

Clemson heads into this conference tournament battle on fire. They’re 3-1 SU and ATS. Their lone loss in their last 4 was by 2 points, 79-81, to North Carolina. It makes sense to back the hot team to win straight up even though they’re sort of playing on the road.

Pick: Clemson Tigers

Texas Longhorns vs #13 Kansas Jayhawks
When: Thursday, March 13 at 9:00 pm ET
Where: Sprint Center, Kansas City, MO

Analysis: Texas has only one hope of garnering a bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Longhorns must upset the two best teams in the Big 12, Kansas and Texas Tech, and win the conference tournament. The quest for a Big Dance bid starts on Thursday when Texas battles Kansas.

The Jayhawks dominated the Longhorns 73-63 in the last game. The Longhorns are 1-4 SU in their last 5 while Kansas heads into this having beaten Baylor 78-70 and covering the spread by half a point.

But, although the Jayhawks should win, they won’t cover. Kansas is only 2-4 ATS in their last 4 and 2-9 ATS on the road. That’s a sign Rock Chalk won’t perform up to their standards on a neutral court. Texas gets the nod against the spread.

Pick: Texas Longhorns

Georgetown Hoyas vs Seton Hall Pirates
When: Thursday, March 13 at 9:30 pm ET
Where: Madison Square Garden, New York, NY

Analysis: Both the Hoyas and Pirates have performed well enough for bids to the NCAA Tournament. The problem for both is many consider it a down year for the Big East.

Georgetown upset Marquette on the road in their last while Seton Hall beat Marquette two games ago and upset Villanova in their previous. Georgetown got the win over Seton Hall, 77-71, in overtime in the last head-to-head.

The Hoyas live and dies by the 3, which could spell doom for Seton Hall. The Pirates allow 33.9% from three. The Hoyas average 36.2%. It’s more likely that Georgetown hits their three-point shots than Seton Hall stops them from hitting those shots. Not only that, but Georgetown has gone 3-1 ATS in their last 4.

Pick: Georgetown Hoyas

Top NBA Games March 11-17

Top NBA Games March 11-17

With a month until the NBA playoffs begin, bet on a trio of must-watch NBA games for the week of March 11th to the 17th. Happy hunting!

Must Watch NBA Games March 11-17

Golden State Warriors at Houston Rockets
When: Wednesday, March 13 at 9:30 pm ET
Where: Toyota Center, Houston, TX

Analysis: The Houston Rockets host the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night in a massively important battle. Golden State’s not running away with the Western Conference the way they have the past couple of seasons.

The Warriors are only two games ahead of the Denver Nuggets and five games ahead of the Houston Rockets in the Western Conference Standings. Golden State has gone 14-18 ATS in their road games and is an awful 3-12 ATS in their last 15.

Houston is 17-14-1 ATS at home, have gone 3-0 ATS in their last three before the week and beat Golden State 118-112 in the previous head-to-head.

Pick: Houston Rockets

Golden State Warriors at Oklahoma City Thunder
When: Saturday, March 16 at 8:30 pm ET
Where: Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, OK

Analysis: Golden State’s tough week continues on Saturday when they must face PG-13, Russell, and the rest of the talented Oklahoma City Thunder on the road. The Warriors provided one of their worst performances of the season the last time they battled Russell and his crew.

The Thunder dominated Golden State 123-95. Westbrook had 11 points and 13 assists while backup Dennis Schroder scored 32. Russell’s allowed Schroder to get into a groove this season. Who knew Westbrook could be such a team player?

The Thunder are 16-15 ATS at home, but only 1-9 ATS in their last 10 to begin the week. However, Golden State’s always overplayed. So, OKC will win and cover.

Pick: Oklahoma City Thunder

Philadelphia 76ers at Milwaukee Bucks
When: Sunday, March 17 at 3:30 pm ET
Where: Fiserv Forum, Milwaukee, WI

Analysis: The 76ers are 4-6 ATS in their last 10 to start the week. They’re only 13-19 ATS on the road while Milwaukee pummeled them in the previous meeting. The Bucks dominated Philadelphia 123-108.

The Bucks remain the best team in the NBA record-wise at 50-16. They can lose once in a while and even lose back-to-back once in a while like they did when dropping games to Utah and Phoenix.

But, they won’t allow a team like Philadelphia to stay close. Milwaukee steps it up against their toughest opponents. The 76ers are one of their tougher opponents. They’ll add a win to their current 19-12-1 home ATS record.

Pick: Milwaukee Bucks
