UFC Fight Night Woodley vs Burns

UFC Fight Night Woodley vs Burns

UFC is continuing its rapid pace of live events after coming back from pandemic disruption. Next up is Woodley vs Burns on UFC Fight Night coming up this Saturday live from Las Vegas.

UFC Fight Night Woodley vs Burns

Featherweight: Chris Gutierrez -120 vs. Vince Morales +100

Since 2018, Chris Gutierrez has lost just once. That’s why he’s the slight favorite over 9-4 Vince Morales.

Bantamweight: Louis Smolka +225 vs. Casey Kenney -265

This is a “get back on track” fight for Kenney. Merab Dvalishvili beat him in his last bout. For Smolka, it’s a chance to take down a more hyped fighter.

Flyweight: Tim Elliott -170 vs. Brandon Royval +150

Brandon Royval battles in the Octagon for the first time. Going back to 2017, Elliott has lost 3-of-4.

Light Heavyweight: Jamahal Hill -130 vs. Klidson Abreu +110

Undefeated Jamahal Hill faces his toughest test yet. Klidson Abreu is no joke. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu artist is 15-4. But Hill has a 4-inch height advantage. Will that be the determining factor?

Catchweight (150 pounds): Billy Quarantillo -150 vs. Spike Carlyle +130

Expect Quarantillo-Carlyle to be one of the most competitive fights on the card. Billy has a 13-2 record. Spike’s record is 9-1.

Flyweight: Katlyn Chookagian +140 vs. Antonina Shevchenko -160

The 8-1 Schevchenko can beat you standing up or on the ground. At 13-3 Katlyn Chookagian has more experience. She also heads into this off a title fight loss in February.

Strawweight: Mackenzie Dern -400 vs. Hannah Cifers +325

Dern offers the lowest odds of any fighter on the May 30 card. It makes sense because she’s 7-1 with 4 submission victories. Hannah Cifers gives up 3-inches in height. To pull off the upset, Cifers must keep this bout off the ground.

Lightweight: Brok Weaver +240 vs. Roosevelt Roberts -280

9-1 Roosevelt Roberts has knocked out 3 of his opponents. He’s submitted 4 others. Weaver is the underdog. But Brok hasn’t lost since 2016.

Welterweight: Kevin Holland -215 vs. Daniel Rodriguez +165

Holland’s a big favorite to take down Rodriguez. That’s because he’s got a 7-inch reach advantage. Daniel has a great 11-1 record. He’s knocked out 6 opponents and submitted 4. That gives the dog a shot in this match.

Heavyweight: Blagoy Ivanov +100 vs. Augusto Sakai -120

Based on odds, Ivanov-Sakai could go either way. Blagoy is 18-3. Sakai, 14-1-1, has a 4-inch reach advantage. 11 of Augusto’s 14 wins have come via TKO/KO.

Welterweight: Tyron Woodley +160 vs. Gilbert Burns -185

Burns versus Woodley should be a great fight. Tyron hasn’t fought since last March. Champ Kamara Usman beat Woodley via unanimous decision. Gilbert knocked out Demian Maia this past March at UFC Fight Night: Lee vs Olivera.

What a great bout to end the May 30 UFC Fight Night card!

NASCAR Cup Series at Darlington Odds

NASCAR Cup Series at Darlington Odds

After a largely successful return of the UFC, NASCAR is back this week at Darlington. Click here for live NASCAR odds.

NASCAR Cup Series at Darlington

Betting Favorite: Kyle Busch +600, Denny Hamlin +600

Busch won the 2019 NASCAR Cup. But Kyle hasn’t won at Darlington since May 10, 2008. That’s a string of 11 straight losses. The closest Kyle has gotten to taking home a trophy was in 2018.

Busch finished second after starting third. Last year, he finished third after starting thirty-third. Kyle’s average finish at Darlington is 9.5.

Of the two chalks, Hamlin is the better choice. Denny has won twice at Darlington. He last won in 2017. Denny also has 3 second-place, a third-place, and a fourth-place finish. Hamlin’s average finish at Darlington Raceway is 6.1. That’s the best of any NASCAR driver.

If you want to go chalky, back Hamlin over Busch. But why go chalky at all? A couple of other drivers project to have great runs in NASCAR’s first real race after the pandemic.

Smart Betting Pick: Kevin Harvick +700

Kevin Harvick offers +700 compared to +600 for the faves. He’s got as much of a shot as Hamlin to win and a much better shot than Busch.

At Darlington Raceway, Harvick averages a 7.6 finish. He’s crossed the finish line fifth or better in 6-of-7. The one time Kevin didn’t finish fifth or better in the last seven races at Darlington, he finished ninth.

Harvick won the 2014 race at the South Carolina racetrack. He’s secured a couple of fourth places finishes the last couple of years. For three years running, Kevin Harvick has finished third in the NASCAR Cup Standings.

One of the best drivers at NASCAR will want to show he’s ready for the season to resume. That means taking the checkered flag at Darlington May 17.

Long Shot Pick: Erik Jones +1800

Like Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin, Erik Jones drives for Joe Gibbs Racing. Hamlin, Busch, and Martin Truex Jr. are the top drivers.

Erik is a close fourth. When it comes to Darlington Raceway, he’s better than the other three. Jones has never finished worse than eighth in three races at Darlington. He finished fifth in his first try. Erik finished eighth in his second try.

Jones’ third try was the charm. Erik won last year’s race at Darlington. Expect Jones to perform much better than the odds imply. Erik Jones is an overlay worth backing to win NASCAR’s first race back.
