Bet on Canelo Alvarez +125 because…
Canelo has fought the very best fighters of his generation. He’s beaten all of them except for Floyd Mayweather Jr. Canelo fought Floyd in 2014. Alvarez has gotten much better since losing to Mayweather. The list of opponents that Alvarez has beaten include: Erislandy Lara, Amir Khan, Miguel Cotto, and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Bet on Gennady Golovkin -155 because…
Golovkin is the most feared natural middleweight in the world. He has power in both hands. He’s got a rock for a chin. He’s arguably the best pound for pound fighter in the world before taking on Canelo Alvarez.
GGG vs Canelo Expert Pick & Final Fight Prediction
Talk about an anticipated fight. Fight fans and bettors are all over GGG vs Canelo. Why not? Unlike Mayweather vs McGregor, Canelo versus GGG is a boxing match on par with Duran versus Leonard or Hagler versus Hearns.
Both are old school fighters that are true boxers. Money is nice. But, these two are craftsmen. They’re students of the game a la the very best of all time. They’re who Mayweather was before fighting Conor.
Who wins in a battle between 2 of the best in the world? Triple G, Gennady Golovkin. I love Canelo. I mean that.
He’s one of my favorite boxers around right now, but Gennady Golovkin is the much bigger man. He’s not only bigger, but he can cut off the ring. The problem that Canelo is going to have in this fight is one of style.
Canelo is usually the aggressor. Being aggressive versus Gennady every time leads to disaster. Sure, Canelo has beaten Lara, Khan, and Cotto. Of the 3, only Lara is still in his prime.
Gennady is undefeated for a reason. Even when facing a bigger opponent in Daniel Jacobs in his last, Triple G found a way to get it done. This should be an excellent fight with both guys having moments of brilliance.
In the end, I predict Gennady’s power gets to Canelo. I am betting on a KO win by GGG in Round 11.
