Last year’s WGC-Cadillac winner, Dustin Johnson, will be looking repeat as this year’s WGC-Cadillac Golf Tournament winner.
Standing in his way is this past week’s Honda Classic winner Adam Scott. The WGC-Cadillac takes place at the Trump National Doral Course in Miami, Florida.

Favorite To Win The WGC-Cadillac:  Adam Scott

Scott’s hot after taking down his first win since May of 2014 in the Honda Classic this past week. Scott finished with a terrific -9 after shooting a Round 1 70, Round 2 65, Round 3 66, and Round 4 70. Scott finished at -4 at Trump National Doral in last year’s WGC-Cadillac. He should be favored over Dustin Johnson because DJ, who won the WGC-Cadillac last year with a -9, hasn’t hit the course competitively since the Northern Trust Open.

Smart Pick To Win The WGC-Cadillac: Dustin Johnson

Then again, it could be that DJ was just waiting for the WGC-Cadillac. Johnson went into the Northern Trust Open off of an absolutely horrendous 41st place finish at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Because he can drive the ball so well, Johnson usually finishes near or in the Top 10 in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He was terrible that week this year. He bounced back in the Northern Trust Open with a 4th place finish. Johnson won this tournament with a stellar -9 in last year’s WGC-Cadillac. His driver was hitting it 333 yards. If Johnson comes in with type of force in 2016, he could make it back to back WGC-Cadillac wins.

Longshot Pick To Win The WGC-Cadillac: J.B. Holmes

Holmes lost by a single stroke to Johnson in the 2016 WGC-Cadillac at Trump National Doral. He shot an awesome Round 1 62. He shot an even with Johnson 73 Round 2 before shooting a 70 Round 3. It was in Round 4 where Johnson dominated Holmes. Inexplicably, Holmes shot a Round 4 75. Johnson took charge. If Holmes can put together a full 4 rounds of great golf, he can win this.
