As you can see, a whopping nine horses will enter the 2017 Kentucky Derby coming off of victories in their respective last races.
Always Dreaming has recorded three wins in five starts with one second-place finish and one third place finish, so that suggests a top three finish for the co-favorite in the Kentucky Derby.
Classic Empire has won an impressive five times in six races with one third place finish. No matter how you look at it, that’s pretty dominating and says that Classic Empire has a great chance of winning outright as the co-favorite.
Irish War Cry has two wins in three races, but one finish that was not in the top three.
Watch out for McCraken. The thoroughbred has four wins in five starts with one third place finish.
Girvin does demand some attention seeing as how the mount has won three times in four starts with one second-place finish.
At 16/1 odds, Gormley is looking fairly attractive with three wins in five starts.
Tapwrit, at 25/1 odds, has two wins and a second place finish in four starts, so there’s hope.
Who cares that Lookin At Lee has two second-place finishes and a pair of third-place finishes in seven starts? I like the name, plus, the 28/1 odds means the thoroughbred is worth a small wager.
I know Fast and Accurate is a real longshot as a whopping 66/1 pick, but hey, the three-year-old won her only start at the Cincinnati Casino Spiral Stakes, so I say why not the proverbial, longest odds wager just for the hell of it?
I hope these betting trends featuring the field of entrants in the 2017 Kentucky Derby helped you make your betting picks. Happy hunting.
