Belmont Stakes Exacta PicksNoah Williams
The 2015 Belmont Stakes Morning Odds are out. A $1.5 million purse is on the line. Should you pick Derby & Preakness winner American Pharoah, who is one leg away from the elusive Triple Crown, to bet in your Belmont Stakes exacta bet?
A Closer Look At My 2015 Belmont Stakes Exacta Picks
The exacta could pay huge if you leave American Pharoah out of it. American Pharoah is going to be the favorite at 4/5 or less by post time. My key horse is going to be Frosted.
Frosted figures to go off at around 9/2, 5 to 1, or maybe even 6 to 1 in the race. With Joel Rosario on his back, the horse should get a great race. The pace in the Belmont Stakes could be much quicker than many realize because both Materiality and American Pharoah are going to run on the lead. Even if the pace isn’t quick, Frosted is able to sit around 3 to 4 lengths off. Frosted should be in a perfect position to run past the leaders at the top of the stretch.
After Frosted, I’m going to use Frammento, Keen Ice, Madefromlucky and Materiality. Frammento is trained by Nick Zito, Mr. New York, who knows how to get his horses ready for the Belmont Stakes. Frammento will be coming from the clouds, but if the pace melts down, he should be right there. Frammento is bred, with Midshipmen on top and a Golden Missile mare on the bottom, to run for as far as he needs to run. Keen Ice is trained by Dale Romans.
Like Frammento, Keen Ice will be closing quickly over the race track. Keen Ice had a horrible trip in the Derby. With more luck, he might have gotten into the Top 4 in that race. Both horses from Todd Pletcher’s barn, Madefromlucky and Materiality have every right to improve on Belmont Day. Materiality will be on the lead. He actually might be bred better than American Pharoah to get the distance. Madefromlucky looked sensational when winning the Peter Pan. He’s a seriously talented race horse.
By leaving American Pharoah out of the exacta, the bet is going to pay off at huge odds. Many horses going for the Triple Crown in the Belmont haven’t even hit the board, much less get into the Top 2. Go for the money by leaving the Derby and Preakness winner off the exacta ticket.
