The Odds-On Favorite Pick To Win The 2016 MLB World Series: Chicago Cubs 7/2

It’s hard to go against the best team in baseball. They are favored to win the NL Pennant and the World Series. Not only do the Cubs have an excellent manager in Joe Maddon but they also have one of the top starting rotations in all of baseball. But the Cubbies, even with Maddon negotiating a team loaded with hitters, has some history going against it.

Forget about the fact that the Cubs haven’t won a World Series since 1908. Think about this:  the league that wins the All-Star Game is 6 and 1 in the World Series in the last 7. The only team to not have home field advantage and win the World Series in the last 7 were the San Francisco Giants in 2014. Also remember that the team that has the best record in baseball don’t often win the Fall Classic. I have to look elsewhere at 3/1 odds.

The Smart Bet To Win The 2016 MLB World Series: Cleveland Indians 6/1

I think that the Indians are serious contenders. The American League doesn’t appear to be as good this season as the National League. That doesn’t mean, of course, that a team from the American League can’t win the World Series. The Indians are ranked 6th in total ERA at 3.65. They’re ranked 14th in overall hitting with a .259 team batting average. Cleveland is also 7 games ahead of the team that I think has a great shot of winning the World Series this year at huge odds.

The Longshot Pick To Win The 2016 MLB World Series: Kansas City Royals 60/1

I truly feel that KC has what it takes to repeat as World Series Champions. The bullpen is ranked second in MLB with a 2.92 ERA. KC has hitters for days. The Royals average .272 as a team. They’re ranked 4th in hitting in all of MLB. The problem is the starting rotation. The hope is that Edison Volquez, Yordano Ventura and Ian Kennedy step it up in the second half of the season. If the Royals have to count on Chris Young this year, they’re done for.
