2018 World Series Odds & Picks

The Betting Favorite To Win The 2018 World Series: New York Yankees +505

After nearly bashing their way into the World Series in 2017, the Yankees went out and added former Miami Marlins power hitter Giancarlo Stanton to a lineup that already includes a pair of other formidable power hitters in Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez. With a boatload of young talent that looks ready to take a big step forward in 2018, the only question marks that New York has are on the back end of their starting pitching staff and in their bullpen, although it should be noted that the Yankees finished fifth in runs allowed a year ago (3.73 rpg).

The World Series Smart Betting Pick: Cleveland Indians +800

Despite coming up short of making back-to-back World Series appearances last season, Cleveland (102-60) won more games than any team in baseball besides the Dodgers while ranking sixth in scoring (5.05 rpg) and an MLB-best, first in runs allowed (3.30 rpg). While the Tribe lost setup man Bryan Shaw, but added former A’s outfielder Yonder Alonso and signed both, Jose Ramirez and Roberto Perez to extensions. Cleveland is expecting big things out of gifted center fielder Bradley Zimmer in 2018 and right-hander Danny Salazar. With stars like Corey Kluber and Carlos Carrasco still leading the way and one of the best managers in all of baseball guiding them in Terry Francona, I see no reason why the Indians won’t be one of the top contenders to win the 2018 World Series.

The 2018 World Series Longshot Pick: Kansas City Royals +15000

After ranking 24th in scoring (4,33 rpg) and 20th in runs allowed (4.61 rpg), Kansas City will enter the 2018 campaign as a huge longshot, but they’ve got plenty of young talent so who knows what could happen. With flame-throwing hurler Kevin Lenik on the rise and a five-star player in Raul Mondesi Jr. finding his way, Kansas City could surprise. The Royals need for young talent like Whit Merrifield, Salvador Perez and outfielders Jorge Bonaficio and Jorge Soler to perform, but again, Kansas City is brimming with young talent all over the place!
