MLB Betting Analysis Sept 2 – Sept 8

MLB Betting Analysis Aug 12 – 17

Don’t look now but the baseball season is about to hit the final stretch. With that in mind here are the MLB games you need to mark on your calendar this week.

MLB Betting Analysis Aug 12 – 17

Monday, August 12

Boston Red Sox at Cleveland Indians

Cleveland sends Zach Plesac to the mound on Monday. Plesac has a 3.13 ERA. The Tribe has won Plesac’s last 6 starts. He’s the reason Cleveland takes this matchup.

Pick: Cleveland Indians

Arizona Diamondbacks at Colorado Rockies

The Diamondbacks are at 59-58 as of August 10. That means they have a chance, a small chance, to take a wildcard. Losing to Colorado on Monday won’t help their chances, though. The D’Backs have dropped their last 7 where Merrill Kelly has started or made an appearance. Colorado all the way.

Pick: Colorado Rockies

Tuesday, August 13

Seattle Mariners at Detroit Tigers

Yusei Kikuchi has a 5.34 ERA and a 4-8 record. However, the Mariners’ Tuesday starter pitched very well the last time he faced the Detroit Tigers. He threw 6.2 innings and gave up only 2 earned runs off 7 hits. Seattle beat Detroit 3-2. A repeat of that game should happen on August 13.

Pick: Seattle Mariners

Oakland A’s at San Francisco Giants

The last time A’s pitcher Brett Anderson faced the Giants, he dominated. Anderson was good for 7.2 innings. He walked 2, but only allowed 2 hits. He didn’t allow any runs in the A’s win. He should dominate the Giants again.

Pick: Oakland Athletics

Chicago Cubs at Philadelphia Phillies

It’s Jose Quintana for the Cubs against Jason Vargas for the Phillies on August 14. The Cubbies have been on fire every time Quintana has stepped onto the mound. Chicago is 7-0 in Jose’s last 7 starts. They should upset the Phillies on Tuesday.

Pick: Chicago Cubs

Wednesday, August 14

St. Louis Cardinals at Kansas City Royals

This could be a tough game for the Cardinals. Royals’ listed starter Brad Keller is 7-12, but he’s got a decent 4.09 ERA. Not only that, St. Louis isn’t familiar with the 24-year-old. The Royals could take this as a slight home underdog.

Pick: Kansas City Royals

Thursday, August 15

Cleveland Indians at New York Yankees

NYY starter Masahiro Tanaka hasn’t dominated this season. But, the Yankees respond beautifully when he’s on the mound. New York is 9-1 SU in Tanaka’s last 10 starts. All 9 wins were by 2 runs or more. Back NYY on the run line here.

Pick: New York Yankees run line

New York Mets at Atlanta Braves

Marcus Stroman versus Julio Teheran should be a great matchup next Thursday. Stroman has yet to find his groove in the Big Apple. He’s allowed a combined 7 earned runs in 10.1 innings after 2 starts. Teheran holds the Mets to a .215 batting average from 400 ABs. Braves take this.

Pick: Atlanta Braves

Friday, August 16

L.A. Dodgers at Atlanta Braves

The Braves have schedule Mike Soroka to take the mound on August 16. Soroka is 10-2 with a 2.32 ERA and 1.08 WHIP. He’s lost his last 2 starts, but both those were road games. At home, he should handle the Dodgers.

Pick: Atlanta Braves

Houston Astros at Oakland A’s

The Astros will be huge favorites over the A’s because they start Justin Verlander in this Friday tilt. However, Tanner Roark has thrown exceptionally well in his 2 starts with the Oakland A’s. Roark could contain the Stros. A’s win.

Pick: Oakland A’s

Saturday, August 17

Milwaukee Brewers at Washington Nationals

Not counting his Sunday game versus the Texas Rangers, Jordan Lyles has thrown well as a Milwaukee Brewer. The Nats bat .366 against him, though. Washington all the way.

Pick: Washington Nationals

Minnesota Twins at Texas Rangers

The Rangers are only 1-4 SU in Ariel Juroda’s last 5 starts. Juroda has had decent starts. He could have another one on Saturday. It won’t be enough for Texas to get past the Minnesota Twins.

Pick: Minnesota Twins

Sunday, August 18

Houston Astros at Oakland A’s

The last time Houston pitcher Gerrit Cole faced Oakland, he dominated. Cole threw 7 innings. He allowed a single earned run off 1 hit while striking out 11. Stros on the run line.

Pick: Houston Astros run line
