MLB Betting Analysis Aug 26 – Sept 1

Yes, football is back, but there is money to be made mining on MLB. In fact, I bet you were already salivating at a couple of games on my list of bettable MLB games this week.

MLB Betting Analysis Aug 26 – Sept 1

Monday, August 26

St. Louis Cardinals at Milwaukee Brewers

6 years ago or so, Adam Wainwright versus Gio Gonzalez would have been the matchup of the week. Not anymore. Both pitchers have performed well, though. Give the edge to the Cardinals’ Wainwright because Gio allows St. Louis to bat .351 against him.

Pick: Milwaukee Brewers

New York Yankees at Seattle Mariners

Yankees should be vulnerable on Monday. J.A. Happ has a 5.58 ERA and allows the Mariners to bat .321 against him.

Pick: Seattle Mariners

Tuesday, August 27

Atlanta Braves at Toronto Blue Jays

Braves pitcher Mike Soroka continues to impress. Soroka is 10-2 with a 2.41 ERA. However, the ATL is only 1-3 in his last 4 starts. Can Jays pull off the upset? Yep.

Pick: Toronto Blue Jays

Texas Rangers at L.A. Angels

At the age of 31, Mike Minor has had a resurgence of sorts with the Rangers. His ERA is 3.17 while Texas is 4-1 SU in his last 5 starts. Angels lose their halo.

Pick: Texas Rangers

Wednesday, August 28

Chicago Cubs at New York Mets

Hendricks has a decent 3.20 ERA. However, his road ERA is 4.76 and he’s got a 4-7 road record. The Mets and “Thor” look tough here.

Pick: New York Mets

L.A. Dodgers at San Diego Padres

Is there a chink in Dodgers pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu’s armor? The likely Cy Young winner is still 12-4 with a 2.00 ERA, but look at that? LAD has lost his last two starts. Take a swing on the Friars to berate Hollywoodland.

Pick: San Diego Padres

Thursday, August 29

Tampa Bay Rays at Houston Astros

Rays are undecided. They should face Zack Greinke on Thursday, though. Greinke is 4-0 in his 4 starts with the Stros. Run line is the play here.

Pick: Houston Astros run line

Cincinnati Reds at Miami Marlins

Alex Wood’s stats aren’t much better than Miami listed starter Jordan Yamamoto’s. But, the Marlins have lost 5-of-6 Yamamoto starts. Wood and the Reds win this.

Pick: Cincinnati Reds

Friday, August 30

Cleveland Indians at Tampa Bay Rays

The Tribe is 6-1 in the last 7 games Mike Cleavinger has started. The Rays are undecided, but it shouldn’t matter in this matchup.

Pick: Cleveland Indians

Boston Red Sox at L.A. Angels

Red Sox pitcher Nathan Eovaldi has mostly been in relief duty this season. He could be vulnerable on Friday because the Angels hit .298 against him.

Pick: L.A. Angels

Saturday, August 31

New York Mets at Philadelphia Phillies

Mets starter Steven Matz hasn’t dominated. But, he’s thrown much, much better this season than Phillies listed starter Zach Eflin. Mets take this one.

Pick: New York Mets

Chicago White Sox at Atlanta Braves

Dallas Kuechel’s throwing well. He’s allowed a single earned run off 11 hits in his last12 innings pitched. That gives Atlanta a big edge here. Go run line.

Pick: Atlanta Braves run line

Sunday, September 1

Oakland A’s at New York Yankees

Mike Fiers and the A’s have been hot. Every time Fiers has stepped to the mound, Oakland has responded. They’ve won Fiers’ last 6 starts. The Yankees send Domingo German to the mound. So bet on moneyball over the big bad wolf

Pick: Oakland A’s

New York Mets at Philadelphia Phillies

Marcus Stroman has gelled with his new team since being shipped to the Mets instead of Yankees. He steps to the mound, throws strikes, and his teammates respond with runs. So far, Stroman-Mets or 4-0. They’ll add another win on Sunday.

Pick: New York Mets
