There are about four weeks remaining in the 2015 MLB regular season. The countdown to the last of the 162 games is on. The NL race is clearing up with Mets, Cardinals and Dodgers leading the way.
In the AL, it is safe to assume that the power hitting and fast pitching Toronto Blue Jays may not lose another game until the World Series. That pretty much requires that the NY Yankees not lose another game to any team other than the Blue Jays.

Analyzing Week 22’s Best Baseball Bets
Cleveland Indians at Toronto Blue Jays
When: Wednesday, Sept 2nd
Cleveland’s Trevor Bauer heads to the mound to take on the best hitting team in all of baseball on Wednesday. Bauer’s ERA of 4.31 overall won’t give any Cleveland supporters in this game confidence. When it comes to Bauer’s numbers versus Toronto, the jury might still be out. Bauer has faced Toronto batters only 29 times. He’s allowed 9 hits, a home run, 6 RBIs, and a batting average of .310.

The Indians faces one of the better pitchers in Toronto’s rotation on Wednesday, R.A. Dickey. Dickey has faced Cleveland batters 70 times. He’s allowed 19 hits for a .271 average. Dickey should have the upper hand in this matchup. Dickey can be even better than Bauer in this. He hasn’t allowed the Indians to hit a home run against him. Without home runs, Cleveland’s going to find it difficult to keep up with the Blue Jays’ scoring machine.
Pittsburgh at St. Louis
When: Friday, Sept 4th
A great rivalry resumes this week when Pittsburgh battles St. Louis. The Pirates send pitcher J.A. Happ to the mound. The 38-year-old has gone 7 and 7 this season while acquiring a 4.10 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP. Happ has seen St. Louis batters 68 times. It hasn’t been pretty. He’s allowed 25 hits, 2 home runs, 7 RBIs and a .368 batting average.
Lance Lynn takes the mound for St. Louis on Friday. Lynn’s ERA sits at 2.80 going into the final stretch of the regular season. Versus the Pirates, Lynn hasn’t been that great. He’s given up 70 hits from 245 at-bats. The Pirates have hit 8 home runs off of Lynn. The batting average against Lynn is .286.
Lynn hurt his ankle this past Saturday. It remains to be seen whether he starts or not. Even if he doesn’t, the Pirates will be the dog in this game. They deserve to be played at what should be decent odds because Pittsburgh always brings up a fight versus the Cardinals.
Take Pittsburgh even if Lynn doesn’t start for St. Louis.
Tampa Bay Rays at New York Yankees
When: Sunday, Sept 6th
The Yankees’ Ivan Nova hasn’t had the greatest season. His record of 5 and 6 isn’t very good. The ERA of 4.50 doesn’t inspire confidence either. Versus Tampa Bay, Nova hasn’t done all that well. He’s allowed a .289 batting average off of 35 hits and 3 home runs from 121 at bats.
Yankees have scored 20 runs in a road game 2x this season. Last time they did that– 1939, when they had 3 20-run games on the road

Nova’s counterpart in this Sunday game is the awesome Chris Archer. Archer has allowed 30 hits and 1 home run for a .250 average to Yankee batters from 120 at bats. Archer will be a road favorite. If you can give up the 1.5 runs, do it. If not, just bet on Archer and the Rays to win straight up.
