MLB Best Bets Week 9 June 1-7

With the NHL and NBA championship finals starting this week, you may have forgotten that we are hitting the quarter mark in the 2015 MLB season and here are my best games to bet on this week.

MLB Best Bets of the Week June 1st to 7th

New York Yankees at Seattle Mariners
When:  Wednesday. June 3rd, 2015

Masahiro Tanaka returns to the mound versus the Seattle Mariners this Wednesday. Before getting hurt, Tanaka had racked up a 3.22 ERA, a 2 and 1 record and a .94 WHIP. He had also struck out 24 batters in 4 games. Versus Seattle, Tanaka has been exceptional with limited at-bats. Out of 32 at-bats, Tanaka has allowed only 6 hits and a .188 average.

Seattle’s starter on Wednesday, Taijuan Walker, hasn’t been all that great this season. Walker has a 6.18 ERA, a 2 and 5 record and a 1.59 WHIP. Unless he turns something around big time in this matchup, Tanaka and the Yankees should roll.

Detroit Tigers at Chicago White Sox
When:  Friday, June 5th, 2015

Shane Greene for Detroit can be up or down as his 4.27 ERA and 4 and 3 record attests. Greene has been downright terrible when facing the White Sox. Chicago bats .370 versus Green. They’ve garnered 20 hits from only 54 at bats. Jose Abreu bats .429 while Melky Cabrera bats .500 and Carlos Sanchez bats 1.000.

Chicago counters Greene with Jose Quintana. Quintana’s 4.67 ERA, 2 and 5 record and 1.35 WHIP doesn’t make him look like a better option than Green in this matchup. But, up until allowing 7 runs to Minnesota on May 24, Quintana had pitched very well. As an example, Detroit only scored 2 runs off of 4 hits in 5 innings versus Quintana on May 7. If he can bring that form to the party, he’ll do enough for Chicago to beat Detroit on Friday.

Los Angeles Angels at New York Yankees
When: Sunday, June 6th, 2015

Michael Pineda takes the mound for the Yankees, which means that New York is going to be a huge favorite in this game on Sunday. Pineda has been terrific in 2015. His ERA is 3.36, his WHIP is 1.13, and he has a 6 and 2 record. What’s crazier is that he’s struck out 67 batters. Versus the Angels, Pineda has allowed 5 hits in only 15 at bats.

The Angels counter with Garrett Richards who has been exceptional versus the Yankees in the past. Richards has allowed only 4 hits in 41 at-bats for a .098 ERA. Since Pineda and the Yankees are going to be huge favorites, backing Richards and the Angels to upset the Yanks on Sunday could lead to big time profits.
