MLB Betting Analysis April 8-14

Spring is here and baseball is in full swing. If you are looking to boost your sports betting bankroll this week, check out three must bet MLB games of the week.

MLB Betting Analysis April 8-14

Colorado Rockies at San Francisco Giants
When: Saturday, April 13 at 4:05pm ET
Where: Oracle Park, San Francisco, CA

Betting Analysis: The Rockies list Kyle Freeland as their Saturday starter. Freeland has thrown very well so far this season. His ERA is a dynamite 2.31 while he’s got an awesome .86 WHIP. Although he is 1-1, Freeland has struck out 15 batters in only 11.2 innings pitched. He’s faced San Francisco Giants hitters 90 times. The Giants have 22 hits from those 90 at-bats for a .244 team batting average.

San Francisco counters Freeland with ace Madison Bumgarner. Bumgarner is 0-2 on the season, but neither loss has been his fault. When your ERA is 1.38 and your WHIP is 1.00, you should be 2-0, not 0-2. Bumgarner gave up 5 runs in 5 hits in his last start versus the Dodgers, but not a single one of those runs was earned. In his first start, he gave up 2 earned runs off 5 hits in 7 innings against San Diego.

San Francisco hasn’t stepped it up for Madison yet this season. They will on April 13, though. SF should take this battle with Colorado.

Pick: San Francisco Giants

New York Mets at Atlanta Braves
When: Saturday, April 13 at 7:20pm ET
Where: SunTrust Park, Smyrna, GA

Betting Analysis: The New York Mets travel to SunTrust Park to battle the Atlanta Braves on Saturday. The Mets are 6-2 and a half a game ahead of Philadelphia in the NL East Division. So far, New York has played like one of the few teams in the NL that could win the pennant.

The Mets haven’t yet decided whom they’ll start on Saturday versus Atlanta. They’re waiting to see what might happen this week before committing.

It might not matter whom the Mets start because 4-4 Atlanta sends ace Julio Teheran to the mound. Teheran is 0-2 with a 3.60 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP, but in only 10 innings pitched, he’s struck out 14 batters. Not only that, he was on of the reasons the Braves beat Chicago 6-4 on April 3. Teheran should control the Mets on Saturday.

Pick: Atlanta Braves

St. Louis Cardinals at Cincinnati Reds
When: Sunday, April 14 at 4:10pm ET
Where: Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati, OH

Betting Analysis: Cardinals listed pitcher Adam Wainwright had a terrible time in his first start of the year. Wainwright allowed 4 earned runs off 4 hits in only 4 innings of a 5-6 St. Louis loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Cincinnati starter Tanner Roark hasn’t been great in two starts, but if St. Louis sends Wainwright to the mound, Roark and the Reds get the edge. Cincinnati isn’t an overall better team than St. Louis. Wainwright’s not close to being the same pitcher he was when he was the Cardinals’ ace, though.

Pick: Cincinnati Reds
